has started peeing blood again Sad

this cat has cheated death on many an occasion , just seems to be a sicky cat plus has been poisioned in past and easily suffers dehydration he has lost alot of weight recently too
so its off to the vets we go today , at 3.50pm
i have a pee sample for the vets as this is how i know he pees blood , when he gets unwell like this he will pee in my kitchen Sad its like he wants me to see it you know
i think i am going to speak to the vet to see if he thinks he is in continuous pain and always going to be a sufferer and if more anti bs will suffice or if i should consider letting him go
he is a very loving sooky puss ,, just had a thought , he was attacked by the street thug cat 2 days ago , im not joking when i say this street cat is a thug i reckon it could kill another cat easily , i wonder if related ?
maybe im thinking too much into it and its only a water infection but i fear there is mass issues with his kidneys Sad

Hiya, my cat had this last year and the vet pressed her tummy to make her wee then did a test on that - I was sooo embarrassed, thought the cat had just randomly weed on the table till he vet told me!

Anyway, vet took bloods too and gave an antibiotic injection which sorted the water out very quickly. The bloods showed up a high liver enzyme and thyroid function. My cat had also lost a lot of weight, turns out to have been related to the thyroid thing which is quite common in elderly cats. Mine is 14. She is on a tablet twice a day now - pain in the ass but she will eat it hidden in a small lump of cheese! She has put some weight on too and we could get a few more years with her yet!

It is all very expensive though, blood tests every month and the drugs. Hopefully this isn't what is wrong with your cat and it is just a simple infection, but either way I hope you've got that moggie insured!

well we are back , thankfully with puddykins !

his sample was tested and was high in blood ,protein and white cells , looking at cystitus , but this is uncommon in male cats apparently , this is the second time they have diagnosed this
his sample is being sent for more testing and results will be back monday
while prodding and feeling him just next to his tail on his back is a war wound and next to his bum is an abcess which has resulted from a bite mark ( if i get my hands on that vicious stray i dont know what ill do to it )
he was given 2 jabs , one for abcess/urine infection and the other is a pain relief
the vet thinks he is most likely very stressed over the other cats attacks and that could be why losing weight obviously along with the pain from infections but she said to be fair he has only lost 0.3 kilo since june last year and that could all just be down to recent events so we will have him weighed again in a few weeks
hopefully come tomorrow he will have perked up and be off out flashing his newly shaved bum Smile
