http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13436017

do you think this will effect you?

i've brought from the store and on line and found both helpful, but i've also think they are very expensive, compared to other baby shops.

we use mothercare to look at products, then look online for cheaper price and normally find it.

we saved £150 on pushchair and carseat, by doing that.

what do you ladies think

I do shop in mothercare, but at the same time do find some things expensive. I did purchase a buggy from them, but I do find that many things can be cheaper online, and lets face it, I would prefer to pay less for the same product than have a loyalty to Mothercare Wink xx

I shop at mothercare only because thats the only baby shop in this town, peacocks have such a small amount and apart from that there is no where else to buy from but i bet Aldershot will be one of the ones to go

I shop in mothercare, bought last sons pram from there and bought lots of other baby things there.
A massive store has just opened near me (opened last week) so think its funny they are opening new stores at the same time as saying they are closing some x

I expect they will do what woolworths did and become an online shop only - no overheads that way. It is a shame for the staff made redundant but Im not surprised really as they are expensive and they have so much competition out there now xx

Our mothercare is huge and has a great elc and clarkes in there.
I buy ellies shoes there and I've bought a lot toys but only when it's 20% off.

Mothercare itself is really expensive and I don't think I've bought much from there.

I always buy Arwyn's bodysuits and sleepsuits from mothercare, I find they fit and last her the best. I sometimes get clothes from there too but mostly I like to just walk around and look Laughing

I find them quite dear however a lot of her pj's/sleepsuits that lasted the longest were from there so they are good quality. I only bought them if they were in 2 or 3 packs and generally when there was an offer like buy one set get one half price. Their clothes are lovely but very expensive - particularly as LO's get bigger.

I did get a few things recently - a gorgeous rain mack!, and I think it was £14 which to me is reasonable.

The only thing id really miss is our towns pixi foto is based in there. I loved getting the free pic and sitting from the bounty pack for Caitlin and would hate not to be able to do the same for this next one. x

Won't effect me really. I went there a lot when preg with Immi cause it was basically the only baby shop near me and i just liked to look at baby things for the sake of it but it was really expensive so I barely ever bought anything in there.

We had a new Mothercare and ELC open in the out of town shopping centre in Peterborough (Hampton) fairly recently which should be interesting because it is only 2 minutes away from Kiddicare's massive showroom.

I suspect they will be closing some of the smaller stores like the one here in Huntingdon because it makes more sense for them to go for big out of town stores.

Won't bother me because I am too tight to buy Mothercare stuff for Wil anyway - he is strictly a Tesco, TU and eBay boy
