Do you think Bruce or Karl/Carl are nice names for a baby?

Stuart thinks they are nice, original and could make a come back. I think they are names that a 40 year old would be called.

Stuart has asked me to post this as he thinks im being silly not considering them. Honest opinions please, I'l get Stuart to read this later - feel free to agree with him if you like the names!

i do quite like bruce actually although its a bit old school to go with elijah. depends a bit on your surname. i really dislike the name karl/carl - it makes me think of someone who probably works in a chipshop and smells a bit funny. just my thoughts though!

He wants to throw Toby into the mix now too - My reason for disliking this is it reminds me of a friends small dog...... again im apparently being difficult.

No not Toby (it's a dogs name) or Bruce (for goodness sake ) I know a nice Karl or 2 so that's not too bad to me. x

Toby is ok, don't mind Carl (Caitlin and Carl has a nice ring to it), not a fan of Bruce I'm afraid (sorry Stuart)

Not keen on toby because we had a tortoise called toby when I was little.

toby gray has a nice ring to it - carl gray on the other hand sounds like yuck earl gray

Hereeesssss BRUCEY No sorry its a sharks name I quite like Toby actually. Karl/Carl is ok-ish....reminds me of Karl Pilkington now tho lol!

Honestly? They are not something I would pick and I think there are so many more nicer names out there. Caitlin is such a pretty name... to be put with 'Bruce' is just mean, lol! x

I'm sorry but no I don't like Bruce or Carl (especially Karl but that's because I have recently encountered 2 used car salesmen called Karl and we did not get on!) Toby is better but Caitlin is such a pretty name you need a nice name to go with it (sorry Stuart!) x

I also agree that Caitlin is such a lovely name, not too modern, not too boring and Bruce/Carl/Toby dont really go. On pain of death I may consider Toby but I think if I had to utter the words 'here are my kids Caitlin and Bruce' I would die

I like names like Alfie/Archie/Oliver but Stuart thinks they are granda names

He read the 1st few posts earlier and was feeling quite smug that most people liked at least one of the names. Its not happening......

I liked toby til i realised with the last name it sounds a bit like 'To Be Grey'

I like yur 3 and they are pretty modern nowadays though i have to say they are a bit too 'popular' for me IYKWIM. In their class they wont be the only one whereas Caitlin probs will be.

Haha this made me laugh, Stuart sounds just like Matt. He keeps coming up with names like Terrence, Randy, Victor, etc. He'd probs like Stuarts suggestions, in fact I'm sure Matt suggested Karl too. I don't like them, sorry.

Toby makes me of a dog, Bruce is clearly a sharks name - fish are friends, not food. Karl just reminds me of Dr Karl on neighbours cringe!

They really our on a different planet men! He seems to be thinking of names he liked at school or friends of his - forgetting they are 30 years out of date! Or films, thats another place Stuart seems to get is inspiration - im pretty sure bruce is aka bruce lee Leon he loves, which I dont mind its just the fact I know he's naming the child after a gangster I dislike!

Atm we are both agreed on Joshua or Rhys/Reece but I dont know which way id spell that. I think I prefer it Reece, but as I spelt Caitlin the traditional way I think that Rhys goes better.... It will prob be a girl after all this!

We have such similar name choices. We've both agreed on Joshua. Bet it will change by the time baby is born. Btw we're not sharing our name choices anymore so don't mention Josh on fb (not that you would but you know..) I really like Reece/Rhys. I wasn't sure what way to spell it. Rhys looks more masculine though, maybe just cause i'm thinking of Reese Witherspoon?
