I've never temp'd myself, but as far as I can gather they recommend first thing on a morning as thats when 'most people' have been at rest for the longest period. I believe it can be done after a minimum of 3hrs sleep, so anytime of the day - just as long as its a min of 3hours sleep.
Not sure about the disturbed sleep though - are you unsettled all night long? As I have known people set alarms to wake them middle of the night to temp Shocked

Also, I think its recommended that you start temping from the 1st cycle day, so you can figure out your own natural temp before ovulation etc.

Good luck hun, let us know how you get on. x x x

I charted my temps when ttc charlie, Zee is right you should take your temp after 3 hours of sleep or more.
Although i actually use to take my temps twice a day just to see if the trend was the same or not. I'd take my temp at 5am (set alarm) and at 11pm right before bed! Altho there was a difference in the evening and morening readings they both followed the same curve/pattern.

I wouldn't worry about moving around in bed! i mean who actually sleeps dead still all night without waking or moving?

i'm not sure about the nights thing tbh, what hours do you work and what days? i'll see if i can pick a time out that would work for you if i can lol
