Newborn car seat help.. _
PostSubject: Newborn car seat help..   Newborn car seat help.. EmptyWed Jul 06, 2011 8:20 am

My lovely Dad had offered to buy us a carseat for the new baby, obviously we need it quite soon Laughing and I'm having trouble choosing one.. basically looking for newborn - 1yr seat, he says he's got an isofix base thingy in there already from Milo's carseat (i think he means the slots it slides into in the seat, not an actual base of that makes sense)

Not too fussed about colour, style etc as long as it's safe and comfy and well padded etc. What make/model did you find the best? There's so many out there that my head is spinning!! eh?

we had a Concord Ion cos that's what matched our pram and it clipped into it until she was big enough. We have a Maxi-Cosi Axiss now but that's 9 months +
my OH's dad's Which? magazine had good reviews for the Maxi-Cosi Opal, I think it's a birth to 3/4 years.... not sure if it's isofix though

I agree with the others a maxicosi one. I brought a travel system and got the car seat with it otherwise i would have purchased one of those.

Thank You Maxi cosi ones look really good! We don't have a car, but we'll need it for my dad or sister's car when they bring us home from hospital/take us out for the day etc.. so as we wouldn't be using it everyday, would it be better to go for one like this;

http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_112305_10001

as it doesn't seem to need the extra base (the maxicosi pebble etc seem to recommend having the familyfix base but if we're transferring the seat between cars that could get really irritating scratch )

Yeah go for one that doesn't need a base becaus eif it's only fo occasional use then you really dont need one.They are just for convienience basically so unless your in the car regularly its not worht the exta money.

If you're not using it daily, I would go for one like you have picked. Something from birth to 3/4 years sounds perfect and wont be a waste of money.
