| We are basically 100% sure that if this one is a girl we are going to call her Ruby Jean will be her middle name after my late granny. I think Ruby Jean go lovely together and Ruby was a name I wanted for Caitlin, would have been her birthstone too, but for some strange reason Stuart hated it 2 years ago but loves it now. 2nd middle name (have to have 2 as Caitlin does lol) will be Holly - Christmas type theme. Anyway, surname will be Gray. Can you spot what Iv suddenly realised and is making me wonderr about it Be Honest if you spot something weird.... Ruby Jean Holly Gray. |

| Hmm it's a tough one as it sounds nice together but then it's two colours. Did you ever read Amber Brown is not a crayon. It's a kids book about a girl called Amber Brown that always gets teased. It put me off colour names.
My cousin is called Amber Scarlett and if you say her surname, Berreen, really quick it sounds like Green. I think it was kinda cruel of my Aunty &Uncle to name her that but I don't think she's ever been teased.
And thinking about it Ruby isn't really a colour, like you don't pick something up and say it's ruby coloured, you say red. It's only associated with colour when you say ruby red so might be ok. |

| Oh my god you are really pulling at my heartstrings here about teasing Shell Amber Brown is not a crayon - havent read it but dont like the sound of it. Mari you made me laugh there Argh, if id just announced the birth of Ruby Gray would you all be whispering? Boys names are even worse when Stuart still fecking likes Bruce!!! Just saw Lisa you like it Names are so tough when you over analyse things like me!! |

| I think it does sound nice together and it took me a while of looking at it to realise the colour thing. Like i said in the other post Ruby isnt specifically a colour so it's not like calling her Amber Gray, or Green Grey (not that anyone would call a child that! ) If you like it go for it, I don't think many people would pick up on the colour thing. It's only cause you pointed out there was something so we all analysed it. Most people don't do that. If you just announced her name I wouldn't have picked it up. |

| yeah i had to scan the post to find out what was "wrong" with the name!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Ruby, it's on my top 5 list for WHEN i have my girlie haha (if that ever happens!) don't see the problem with colours, as others have said Ruby is a word used to describe a colour e.g. ruby red... go for it i'd say...and deffo not bruce!!! (sorry, but i just think of bruce almighty lol- although bruce almighty is jim carrey and i do have a crush on him ) hope u agree on a boy name soon xx |

| Ruby Gray sounds fine. I like it. I wouldn't worry about it. Its not like some names that really could start teasing at school (don't get me started on the number of names we had to rule out) |

| I think if your surname was red it would be odd, but Ruby Gray is lovely but I'm sorry - you have to vito Bruce. It still makes me think of the shark in finding Nemo and you can only say it in a slightly australian accent.. G'day Bruce lol. |
