PostRaising for Rett's Syndrome

hi girls!!

i know pretty much all of you know about Lily-Ann having Rett Syndrome...but for those that don't i'll just explain a little

Rett Syndrome is a rare but severe neurological disorder affecting girls. Although rare, it is the most common genetic cause of severe disability within females and causes sufferers to be entirely dependent each and every day. Girls with Rett Syndrome will need 24-hour care for the rest of their lives and will be unable to walk, talk or even use their hands.

Imagine the symptoms of autism, cerebral palsy, Parkinson's, epilepsy, and anxiety disorders…all in one little girl

It has been proven that Rett Syndrome symptoms can be reversed in mice, but obviously to keep the research going to find out if it can work in humans costs money.

myself, sam and my brother are planning to do a 24hour walk, from London to Dover on 17th September 2011 and would be really grateful for any support you ladies can give(even just a 'you go girl!) as this is a cause that is really close to my heart

if anyone would like to donate my just giving page for this event is www.justgiving.com/doingitforlily-ann

thanks so much ladies for even taking the time to read this post

Lily-Ann is a gorgeous happy little person and I wish something would be found quickly!

I am going to be organising an Auction. This was Michelle&Danielle's idea as she has very kindly donated the Toy Bag she won in the raffle!

I will also be donating something from my 'shop'

So If anyone has anything they would like to Auction please PM me so we can get as much money raised as possible.

Going with what Lisa has said about an auction. I was thinking that I could make some phone/bag charms and giving any money made by selling them to Faye for the cause.
Would anyone be interested in buying one for £3 each?

Should have said that my plan is to make them with lavender/purple ribbon which is the colour for Rett Syndrome awareness and they would have a 'Hope' charm which is the idea of raising the money that we hope they find a cure.
