I honestly cant remember worrying this much with Caitlin. I think I was just excited at the thought that I might find out the sex.

My scan is on wed at 430pm and iv been worrying about it all weekend. Im thinking all sorts of upsetting things - it will be weeks behind in development, it wont have a brain, its heart will be deformed, it wont have limbs or eye sockets (which is stupid as I saw them on 11 week scan), my placenta will be failing, I wont have any fluid.... the list goes on. I feel horrible like im wishing bad things into existence by thinking like this.

Logically I know that the chances are 99% that its going to be fine, baby wriggles away, im getting a bump - but I cant help feeling like this. Im kinda ruining the experience a bit for myself. With Caitlin I was excited about scan - but this time Im dreading it a bit. Im nearly certain they wont tell me sex so dont have that part to look forward to and also seeing the baby isnt exciting me as much as it did with Caitlin as I remember with her at 20 weeks being a bit disappointed by how little you could make out as she had got so big eg an arm at a time etc. (I cried after her scan cause my pics were rubbish - 1 of an arm and 1 of hand over half a face).

Urgh, im being an idiot. Roll on Wed at 430pm when hopefully I can relax. x

Snoops - you're not an idiot, I think we all go through this and think of all the bad things that could happen. I was always convinced that mybaby had died inside me (even though I could feel he kicking).

Please try to stop worrying xx

Not too long to wait now, we all have these moments where we expect the worst. With a second baby i think we are more aware of what a miracle the whole pregnancy is, so there is more to be lost.

Arhh hun i am sure when u get in there u will be all excited god i loved those day s.

It's perfectly normal to worry hun, I think we've all found this second time round that we are more aware of things so worry more than get excited. You know that baby was fine at the 12 week scan so chances are things will be fine! My 20 week scan was on hubbys birthday and I had it in my head that his birthday was going to be ruined forever because we were sure to have bad news but everything was fine! Good luck and try and enjoy it! Btw i can't believe you're already 20 weeks time is flying! xxx

Even when I was calm beforehand I think I was petrified by the time every scan came round (and I had 7 or . I think its perfectly normal but I'm sure that everything will be fine

oh hun it is normal don't worry I spent my scan lying there freaking out - and then when he was looking at the foot and couldn't work out which way it was pointing I was nearly crying thinking I'd made a deformed baby and I should've been taking all my vitamins and ugh. (it was ok btw)

Thanx, I felt like such a negative weirdo posting that. Hope I didnt upset anyone. Its def more stressful second time round, I feel a bit stupid for not worrying with Caitlin - I took it all for granted a bit I guess. Im telling myself once this scan is over everything will be fine and I can relax, but I know that wont happen. Im gona worry up until they safely in my arms, pink and wriggling!

Jade you've just reminded me I dont think iv taken my vitamins in weeks. I got to 11/12 weeks and then just forgot because folic acid wasnt important anymore. I also regularly puked after taking them so was becoming pointless taking them. Gona start them again today!

Its a lovely day here so been playing in garden this morning and then heading to friends later on to play in paddling pool if the weather holds so that should take my mind off things.

Just read that back and I mean Caitlin and her friends will be playing in paddling pool - not me lol!x

Aww, I'm sure you'll be fine (although I am feeling exactly the same about my 12wk scan and will probably feel the same come 20wks too )
I feel like a total prophet of doom too
