Honestly sometimes I wonder what goes through psychologists minds at times!

I can honestly say that breaking up from my best friends at school has made no lasting negative impact on my life, it's part of life! It's these sort of building blocks that help you through bigger break ups in later life.
Its going to have a bad effect on the kids that do form close friendships because they will be breaking the rules, how on earth can they enforce it? Most kids will already have best friends, what are they going to do with that!? It's crazy lol

What a pile of crap !!! It's human nature to form attachments to others. It's part of life and growing up. For those that fall out or are excluded, well that's human nature too. Relationships change and move on when we are adults so attempting to stop this happening for children is limiting their social skills as adults xx

I can understand encouraging kids to play in large groups in the sense it would be part of your job to look and see who is being excluded and try and get them to join in. However, you can't ban best friends. What next? You can't have a boyfriend/girlfriend in case you break up and it hurts too much? That's just life and they need to learn to deal with fall outs and I'm sure most of us would agree that the good times you have with your best friends more than make up for the arguments

Ridiculous. I can see that it makes sense t encourage groups so that everyone is included but it is natural for children to form closer friendships with some children and not others. You wonder how these kids will cope with knock backs when they get older if they are being shielded from 'real life' at school x
