| Izzy can now go up and down properly and (I hOPE) safely so I have taken the bottom one down...but reckon I should leave the top one on there and just close it when she is in bed...they are wooden stairs and quite slippy - ok with bare feet but awful with just socks - not that she sleeps in socks, but still I dont feel like taking that one down!
I was quite surprised she hasn't been charging up the stairs all day - she only goes up when I do or if I am up there and she comes to tell me something |

| well done Izzy, big girl now I daren't take our gate off at the bottom, Cerys would be upstairs like a shot and be nosing through everything I suppose I could put it at the top of the stairs but after her recent fall off a picnic table I think I'll wait a bit longer xx |

| What a good girl she is. We haven't had our stair gates on the stairs since Harry was 1, only because it put a hole in our wall, so we had to train him not to go up by himself. He does now when we go up or down he follows but hes got it down to a fine art now he doesn't even hold on to anything. I still go in front of him coming down though just in case lol xx |

I may think about leving them open a bit more soon though...just as i need to think abot shutting them again probably lol. Maybe I should just teach her how to open em... |

| We only ever had one at the bottom as we taught ellie to get up the stairs as soon as she started crawling. We have one at the top but that's just because I like to keep her up there with me when up there for a while as if she was to go down stairs she'd get up to all kinds of crisp eating, biscuit munching, ice cream licking types of mischeif. |

| We havent had any stairgates on for about a year now. But I can see why you would want to with wooden slippy stairs.
Aimee does however have a gate on her room door, so that she cant just wonder out in the middle of the night.

| I had to put mine back up when Hannah started crawling - she is obsessed with the stairs and would probably sell you one of her kidneys for a chance to play on there. She can go up and down safely but she's a little too brave for my liking so I don't trust her like I did Thomas - this kid has no fear! I will probably have to keep it on until she's 16 knowing Hannah xx |
