When did you do this? His been sitting up in it for ages but facing me. We have a stroller as well so he faces away from me sometimes. I feel like I should turn his pram around as well but its like losing my baby

Izzy faced me til she was about 1.5 then got a stroller

BUT I've just had my loola back off a friend so put her back facing me .... its MUCH nicer! I can talk to her and we look at each other...she is much more alert and doesn't slump in the seat - will be keeping her facing me even though she is 2.5 now!

Caitlin faced me until 9 months. The only way she could face me though was in the carseat bit clipped on. She wasnt very big at 9 months and still had room in it. We also didnt use it that much - I wasnt one for 2hr walks a few times a week lol, and I know the carseat bit isnt the best for their lil backs.

When we got rid of carseat she just went in normal pushchair mode and it had no option of facing me so that was the decision made.

Facing you is supposed to help their language development as you can talk to them when they out. In saying that its all relative as to how much you talk to them at home etc.

Id say change him when you feel ready. I wouldnt rush at 7-8mths if you dont want to x

Immi's a nosey little thing so she used to want to look at everything so was fairly early when we turned it round, but i'd just decide on the day whether to have it one way or the other, depending on her mood and whether i thought she should sleep or have a look at surroundings.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. He sits right up and looks out the side so I know he wants to look but I guess he can see me anyway. Snoopy I'll use the language development excuse as a reason not to lol!

I suppose it can be a cost thing too but. Most of the cheaper prams/travel systems are forward facing (unless you use the carseat like I did - though even then I felt a bit guilty as ppl said about spinal development being affected in that position).

I think it is all realtive to how much you interact with them at home too.

Generally I agree a tiny baby should be parent facing, but if you have a cheaper pram and cant I wouldnt beat myself up about it.

I think we have enough pressure as parents without being told we're damaging our children by letting them face outwards. However saying that I do think it's sad when you see a child that can't even sit up properly slumped in a stroller. I actually saw a newborn in a Zia the other day. i know it's safe as zia is from newborn but the pad on the strap was bigger than this baby's head. Didn't look comfortable at all.

I think a bit of common sense needed and knowing what is right for your child

I had dita facing me until i sold her pushchair at 14 months. I would still have her facing me if i had that pushchair but she is just in a stroller now if she isnt walking. x

I still havent!

But we do have a stroller now as well (only bought about a month ago) so I give her the choice when we use th pram.

I dont like it though when she doesnt face me because I cant hear all that she says. I LOVE our pram talk and miss it dearly!

We had a travel system originally but he grew out of that quite quickly. He was about 3-4mth old when he started to look uncomfortable in the car seat. So we bought a parent facing pram.

He was parent facing untill about 6mth, but it depended what mood he was in as to whether he faced me or outwards. He loved to be nosey but I really missed him interacting with me - but then I suppose he interacted with me allllll day at home so was glad to get a change of scenery lol

By 1yr old he was facing outwards fulltime...but by 16-18mth I wanted him facing me again cos he kept stealing things when we were out shopping Shocked cos I couldn't see him properly Rolling Eyes

i actually swop and change lucas, we went for a walk around the forest other week and we put him facing forwards for a change and he loved it, watching rich run in front.

i think we will just keep doing that, swop and changing him around so he gets to explore and also get my talking to him constantly lol
