Having only just worked out how to turn off notifications on the banda facebook group, does anybody else feel like they look at the facebook posts more than banda? I am guilty of looking at facebook and not looking at banda.

Here's the controversial bit, do you think we should shut the facebook group?

It's just a suggestion, I know I would look on here more if I didn't get all the goss on facebook and I've probably had over 100 notifications in the last 24 Hours, I wonder if there has been a similar number on Banda?

It just seems a shame after all of lisas hard work, I am going to try and come on here more than facebook in future (even if I do keep forgetting my password oops!)

I have to say I've been using fb Banda more because the main site has been so slow over the last few days. Also I can get on their easier on my phone so I wouldn't like to see it shut x

I didn't even know there was a facebook group!

I agree 100% ...I don't like using the FB group because there are ladies on here who don't use FB, and I'd hate for them to feel excluded from certain conversations...but I do end up commenting on there because I also dont want to ignore what people put on there!


I can put a poll up and see what people think?


Or maybe rather then remove it - it be used for emergency purposes only, like if banda crashes - doesnt happen often!

I tend to only come over if someone says on fb please look on banda.

I do have a slight issue with band though, not sure if it's just because I mainly look on the iPad but when I open a thread it starts at the bottom and every time I try to scroll up to the top it goes back down to the bottom until it's fully loaded whichis a bit annoying, don't think it does it on the pc though.

Oh and stupid iPad auto correction! Yes you stupid thing I do mean banda when I type it, not band! Hehe

perhaps this is why the non-fbers on here sense tumbleweed so often!

I have this on my iphone too.

I am really struggling to get much Banda time on the laptop at the mo because I have so much going on with two mental toddlers and a wedding to plan. Just said to Donna this aft that once this stress is over I will make much more of an effort to get back on here. Sorry ladies - I haven't abandoned you and I'm not purposely ignoring anyone I just really struggle to keep up at the mo and tend to comment on the first thread I see then a kid screams or a phone rings or a ribbon needs tying to something

Anyway I am guilty of using the fb group a lot more at the moment for the simple fact that I use fb to keep in contact with my bridesmaids and wedding guests etc so generally have that on and i get notifications to my phone to prompt me so I can give quick replies as opposed to sitting down and reading for more than 2 minutes at a time.

I do think it would be a shame to shut the fb groups as they have been invaluable for oranising meets and giving support. Also great for a bit of controversy now and then

i also don't come on as much, but i think it's mainly to do with the awful past week me and the family have had...aswell as all my spare time is spent scanning ebay/amazon for cheap things for the wedding getting a bit bored of it now
i will try to come on more, but i do generally post on fb banda more as im ALWAYS on fb lol...i come off the laptop, after just being on FB and then within seconds i'm on FB on my phone i should really get a life haha i'd probs post more on here if FB banda closed down/used for emergencies, but i'd also miss FB banda as it's a quick(er) way to get an answer (sowwwwwi!!) xxx

maybe you should shut down banda and just keep the fb group if people prefer it

I am very giulty of using FB Banda. Mainly because im always on FB and Banda doesnt work on my phone due to having a shitty phone and i only gt on the laptop once every other day and feel like i miss out on alot of stuff and never have time to catch up. I would hate to see the FB group being removed. I totally appreciate everything Lisa has built with Banda, but for me its either that or i dont have the time and get disconnected - if you know wat I mean

Totally agree Honey Bunny, BANDA has been very quiet for lots of reasons. I too was fed up of seeing loads of notifications about stuff I didnt really want to be part of, so I left the group. Lisa has put alot into Banda and I think its a shame that it has gone so quiet and that the community doesnt feel as tight xx

I agree, maybe the FB group should be kept open for emergencies, people who for whatever reason totally can't get on main banda - but with the app cant see how as it works fine on my android?
Anyway if forumotion pull their finger out the mobile version will solve all mobile issues! The the app would still go to the mobile version!

I blame the kids!! if it weren't for them we would have loads more time for BANDA but nothing to talk about

But seriously though I know from personal experience that when Thomas was small I got loads of forum time whilst he napped and of an evening, even as he got a bit older I could squeeze a bit in in the day and also get my jobs done so freeing up my evenings for forum time. Since having miss Hannah my spare time gets less and less by the day as the pair of them become more and more demanding of my time (and rightly so). It is just blummin hard work keeping two toddlers entertained, stopping them fighting, potty training, playing with and teaching them meaning I get less housey stuff done in the day therefore eating into my evening forum time. I think a lot of us are now moving onto our 2nd/3rd babies (and many of us have small age gaps) and spare time is at a premium therefore the fb group is invaluable when we are rushing but want to stay in touch. I do wish I could dedicate more of my time here because I miss you guys and once the wedding is done I will try but tbh it will never be at the level it once was until the kids both start school and I get more free time in the day.

I can't say I post that much on FB banda but I do reply to people's questions where I can. I'd be sad to see it go

Like Deb's said, I don't believe it has anything to do with people favouring FB banda over Banda forum..its just people simply haven't got the time free any more. I only have the one child, a toddler at that!! who no longer naps through the day so all my time and attention goes on him and the home. Then I have my hobby/job when I do have free time..oh and then OH requests a bit of time too lol

I am able to access FB banda on my phone so does make it easy if O is watching a bit of cbeebies or having lunch etc. I can view Banda forum from my phone and log-in but can't reply to posts (even via the FB app Lisa's just put up) but if I do see posts that I feel I could help with I do try and login on an eve to reply.

Also - I feel FB banda is kinda like a private FB in the respect that people can express their feelings at that moment, with the ladies they trust the most without sharing with the rest of their FB family.

What phone do you use Zee? I know it works fine on most androids and iphone .....

Its a Samsung Genio Slide. I've downloaded Opera mini on it and its really expanded my browsing memory..but for some reason it just won't allow me to reply. I can see the reply options such as the smilies, B, I, U etc etc but there's just no box to type in Very odd

stange...again hoping the mobile version hurrys up and will solve that!
