I signed up to do maths and english through learn direct and did the level checker.
Got a call from them this morning from them saying they cant offer me the courses as i came up as a high level 2 and i just need to go to a centre and take the tests to gain my qualification

And i thought i was thick! lol.

So i am doing that then i am applying to college to do an access to higher education course, see where it takes me

Do you have to pay for it hun? I keep looking at doing courses but they cost an absolute fortune!

I have absolutely no idea as yet what i want to do i suppose i will decide as i go along, i just know i want to better myself, i hate what i am doing now and want to set a good example to the kids. x

Lita, I did open uni course and I didn't have to pay as I got funding. They seem quite generous with the funding so might be worth taking a look.

Well they won't pay for me to do maths because I've already got good results on the maths checker......that explains why I got a D for maths when I did my GCSEs then yeah (twice!!!!!)

I haven't even got the option to do the english one

Donna, I know you hate being on benefits, but they may come to your advantage, as you will get courses free and childcare too.

I hated being on benefits, but got me through 2 college access courses and 2 uni courses, with student loans, now repaying by working

Yeh i am just seeing that it can be an advantage, and while i am on benefits i want to at least do something even if i cant get a job i will learn instead, at least i feel like i am doing something rather than sitting at home claiming off the state! x

I did have a few problems but i kept trying and it loaded eventually x

Just tried again and the page has gone a bit pete tong, so i'm going to try tomorrow....i'm quite excited, I love learning.
