Boys parts question _
PostSubject: Boys parts question   Boys parts question EmptyThu Dec 08, 2011 10:21 am

I'm worried about Milo's boy parts Embarassed I have no idea what's normal but they seem a bit strange lately. His morning nappy has quite a strong smell, it's not really dark yellow but it's a bit yellow is that makes sense? He's not a big drinker so he doesn't wee huge amounts which could be making it stronger overnight maybe?

This morning when I was changing his nappy he pointed at his boy bits and said they were ouchy. He's had a bit of nappy rash, and the tip of his penis (ick, sorry that word makes me cringe, I hate saying it, anyway he's a little boy - its not a real penis!) is very red - that usually clears up with a bit of sudocrem, but it got me a bit worried that he might have a bit of an infection? He constantly has his hands in his pants but when I ask him if it's itchy or ouchy he says no, so he might just be being a bloke..

Another thing, I've never pulled the skin back but you can still see the tip inside if that makes sense - is that supposed to happen?? Suspect

I've left a message for the health visitor but they take weeks to get back to you round here Sad He's not in any obvious pain (apart from saying it was ouchy this morning, he doesn't have a fever and he's as happy and bouncy as always..

Well I don't know much about little boy parts either so I'm not much help but wanted to say Imogen is constantly telling me 'foof hurt foof hurt' and grabbing her crotch. I kept having a look and nothing obvious wrong, then we kind of worked out she says it when before/during/after she's had a wee so think it might just be she's realising when she needs a wee and when it's happening and it's an odd sensation for her. Could that be why Milo is saying ouchy sometimes?

It could be just the nappy. I know when Oliver used to wear nappys he'd always have a sigh of relieif when I took it off.
Sometimes when they've had the nappy on for long periods ie; night times the penis gets a bit swollen.

My advice would be maybe put a tiny bit of sudacream on the tip for the redness. And maybe leave his nappy off for a bit between changes and off for a couple of hours on a night before bed

I echo what Zee has said about the cream and leaving the nappy off. Wee in the morning will always be darker and smellier. (Hence why they say to take a PG test in the first wee)

As for the grabbing and saying it hurts it's normal. Rowan is always telling me his hurts or grabbing it, pulling it everything. I do have to tell him sometimes not to do it.

I've never pulled the skin and don't see the need to do so.

Shell, that's interesting, i'll keep an eye out for when he says that and see if it could be connected Smile Zee, that's good to know, I'll try giving him some nappy free time and see if that helps! I'm sure he'll love it and it could be a good way to ease into potty training (eek) Smile Kell - yep, the grabbing sounds familiar, definitely a boy thing!
