BP was a bit high but was the top bit, emotion controlled apparently , i put it down to mega rush to get there and the fact we were discussing flu jab lol ! im not a lover of needles
my pee had a trace of glucose which we put down to the galaxy caramel i had late last night

so now the bad bit ,i have to go for a glucose blood test thingy ? a few hours in hospital drink something and 2 blood tests , thats all i know about it the info will be posted out to me so does anyone have any info on that just now for me ?

it's a simple test

fast overnight, go in and they take blood, then give you the uber disgusting drink, you have to sit about for 2hours...not really allowed to move about too much as exercising can alter the results, then you go back and they take more blood...it's that simple. i was told if all was fine then you don't get a call, if something is wrong they call you back in...i have to have one at 26weeks as my dad was diabetic

i had one with lily-ann (for some reason not with lewis though!) and the nurse was so incompetent that she forgot to put the bottle thing on the end and my blood was just squirting all over the floor

In Sussex they do a routine one at 28wks. You drink lucazade (just do this at home) then go get your blood taken an hour later at the hospital. If the results show you might have diabetes then you have to go back another day for the test that Kenty described. If the test is not routinely done and they're doing it cause there was glucose in your pee then it will probs be the test Kenty described

I'm booked n to have it at 28 weeks as my mums diabetic. You have to fast from 6pm except water then I've got to be at the hospital for 8.30am, they do bloods yhen they give me a bottle of lucozade then do bloods again, results usually come back in a week x

the fasting depends time depends where you live, for me it was 10pm night before.
andblood test when arrive,i had to drink a bottle of lucozade in 5mins, yuk, still cant drink it now lol. then hour or so later had to have another test then was allowed to leave

i celebrated the test being over by drinking fizzy pop and hula hoops, i also got a free sarnie

a sandwich , she told me ide get tea n toast , i want a sandwich lol

i didn't get a free sarnie or toast!! damn...i'm changing hospitals!!

Me neither Kenty although I did get lucozade last time rather than that horrid drink!
