I like Abigail but would spell it that way rather than your way, and if I were to go for Abby (or any variation thereof) I think I would still go for the longer name then abbreviate it. I like a name you can abbreviate, there's something a bit personal about abbreviating someone's name, then having a longer name you can use in more formal situations is a bit of a protection almost (Hello this is Mrs Varney calling....). I have a cousin called Abby (just Abby) and people forever assume she's really Abigail.
Cody is nice, a bit unusual, I like that. Same with Freya and Faye, though Freya is getting more popular, I know two babies with that name.
Casey is OK but to me a bit, not ordinary because it's uncommon, but just not special enough.
Afraid I really don't like Kadee, or Kayden (Tara's suggestion. In fact I particularly dislike hayden, kayden, jayden etc), they're a bit modern and made-up sounding to me. Sorry!
Lexi, as for Abby, is short for Alexandra....
(My sister is Alexandra actually, it's great she can be Ali, Al, Lexi, Alex, Xandra (bleurgh), anything with that really).
Layla (my neice is Leila), Orla, Phoebe - I really like all of those.
Selena is very different but for some reason makes me think of a girl at school with greasy black hair scraped back in a ponytail!
Hope that helps, and doesn't upset anyone!!
xx Em
