had a really hard time potty training jamie he is 3 on saturday Shocked he just dosent want to do it. So bit the bullet today and just put him in a pair of pants, it went ok a few accidents but to my suprise he did tell me a few times when he needed the potty. Just wanted a bit of advice on where to go from here do i put a nappy on a night time i have tonight as he does have wet nappies when he wakes. also out and about what to do, its easier at home if he has an accident, what if we went out somewhere where there are no toilets near by scratch what where your LO's like venturing out the first few times.

Do they get better at holding it in while you try find a toilet etc...

Ok- night times, I'd put a nappy on him until he's dry at night, it's all to do with bladder control so apart from waking him in the night for a wee there isn't much you can do. I did this with mine and eventually they were dry at night Smile my daughter was much quicker than my son.

Out and about, well, we had a few accidents but little boys are easier than girls, web had ewes in pop bottles, and even a crisp bag once when we were in the car. They do get better holding it pretty quick.

I'm sure the girls on here have loads of advice, my older two are quite old now so it's a distant memory. I've got it all to come again with Ellie Smile.

But don't stress, hes only 3 and he will get the hang of it in his own time.

Good luck xxx

Thanks thats reassuring, ive never pushed him as ive always thought when he's ready.

its just when you get people who say is he still in nappies makes you think this should be sorted by now Rolling Eyes

Id deffo keep him in nappie at night til he is waking up dry for a few days running at least. Even then you will get odd accidents form time to time.

We used pants at home and pull ups for outside for a while til she was able to hold it longer and also carried a fold up seat for ages

Thanks for that i will get him some pulls up for when we are out, he's beeen doin well today no accidents, but i know if we went out he might have an accident i dont think he can hold it very long as when he needs it he wants to go straight away. he's doing well considering he was in nappies 2 days ago and never telling me when he needed it Very Happy
