alfie still cant use a fork himself Shocked Shocked Shocked he prefers to eat finger food. ive tried helping him to get things on the fork but he gets frustrated and starts crying and just picks it up with his fingers. Or if u put it on the fork for him he can feed himself just fine. Any tips? x

Yes my tip is : don't worry he will do it when he is ready!

Izzy still uses her fingers a lot of the time, even though she can use the fork and knife fine .. I don't mind, so long as she eats it!

The way they see it is doing it the easiest way for them, and thats picking it up...why would they wanna use a fork Laughing

i agree with lisa, elijah is pretty good at using a fork/spoon and is relatively un-messy (err tidy isn't quite the word). if he is really hungry though he will get p*ssed off trying to use the cutlery and resort to fingers.

i would just always put a spoon/fork/baby knife out for him like you would for yourselves and not bother whether he's using it, he will get it eventually even out of curiosity as its what everyone else is doing and tbh he isn't old enough to worry about it!
