| I've got a bad feeling that this is going to end badly I've had a few 'bleeds' where TMI first thing in the morning I've had very light pink discharge, then it goes very light brown then normal by the end of they day. The last time it happened was on wednesday. But I'm bleeding a tiny bit more today I had bleeding a few times with Libby so trying to worry, but struggling badly . If I ring the midwife she'll tell me to go to A&E where I'll have sit for hours to get referred to EPU who will just take bloods then I'll have to wait for a scan date, which if I'm honest I just cannot face doing when I've got Libby to look after with noone to take her, I've got work this afternoon and step daughter is coming round later. My doctor is useless and when I spoke to him about bleeding with Libby he just said if it happens it happens, there's nothing they can do I suppose I just have to sit and wait and see what happens. Sorry it was so long x |

| Awww huni (((HUGZ))) I had bleeding when I was preg with Drew and it doesn't always end badly. I am hoping everything is okay for you huni. Can you get a different GP to refer you to EPU? I think a referral takes 2 days. Sending you love and hugz Dilly xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

| Thanks Dilly, it's absolutely rediculous trying to get in my doctors to see anyone and the only doctor that's left is the one I saw last time (he's a very honest doctor and not many people like him because of this). Thanks Mara, I'm trying to rest but it's hard with a toddler as you well know Thank you for replying xxx |

| Ahhh hun I really hope its just a bit of implantation bleeding or something. As you prob rem I got a bleed with this one and it used to come on and off right up until 20 weeks, I was even told by a dr that I was having a mc and there was nothing to do other than wait. Have you been having any major pains? I had the odd twinge but it was more uncomfortable than anything not so much painful, they never found out why I bled and mine used to start off light pink then went a bit redder/brown and then faded again (sorry for tmi) i put some of it down to maybe being a bit silly and still doing things that I shouldnt of been doing even though it started early on (like lifting heavy things) just make sure when you get the chance to just sit and relax or have a bath or go to bed early when oh home just to give your body a bit of a rest. The way one of the midwifes explained it to me was that our wombs are like ballons and after we have a baby they all shrivel (sp) up and blood etc can get caught in the 'creases' so when your womb starts growing again then the blood comes out of these 'creases' and sometimes that can be what the bleeding is, sorry if that makes no sense (I have had no sleep ) I really would if you could though maybe see if you could get a scan today or one booked for next week as if you do get worse or dont feel right over the weekend its a long time to try and sort anything. Could you not go to work this afternoon? Im sure if you rung up and explained (if you wanted to) they would be more than understanding. Really hope bean is sticky and know exactly how you are feeling at the min. xxxxx |

| Thanks everyone.
Steph, that's a really good explaination by your midwife and it does make alot of sense, fingers crossed that's what it is. As for not going to work, there's no chance I can take any time off, we're short staffed and really busy so I would feel really bad (silly I know). I just know that if I ring the doctors, the receptionist will say there are no available appointments then I'll say what the problem is and she'll tell me to go to A&E, we'll have to sit about for hours and hours before we get seen, they will just take some bloods and then refer me to EPU. I did it so many times because we panicked every time I had a bleed with Libby.
Laura, I've got everything crossed that all is well with your little bean. xxx |

| Oh hun i really would take the afternoon off - its a friday so no one does anything anyway and its not like we get medals for going in when we dont feel great at the best of times. Your drs sound as useless as mine tbh. If you feel ok waiting then Id prob do that as the extra stress isnt worth it really is it... hope you get some rest at least today xx |

| Awww chick! I know how you feel, I am still having a bit of a bleed every 2 or 3 weeks and everything seems ok with my bubs! Also bleed all the way through with my other two! Apparently it's just how my body deals with pregnancy!
I would take the afternoon off and try to relax! I know it's difficult but try not too worry too much! There are a few of us on here who have had bleeds and have gorgeous bubbas to show for it!!

| Suse if you go to our a and e if pv bleeding we do a direct referral to epu as nurses without you having to wait and see a doctor as long as your obs are stable and you have a pos test. Is it worth ringing your a and e to see if they do this as ive been known to have pts in epu within 10 mins of them booking in. Alternatively come to my work lol xxx |

| Oh Susan, I've only just seen your post. ((((hugs)))
As Lisa said I had a lot of bleeding at the beginning. I bled untill I was 10 weeks and had 2 early scans. They couldn't see what caused the bleeding but I was beside myself with worry and had convinced myself more than once that everything was over. But look how things turned out for me, so try not to be too upset lovely xxx
I didn't even have to go to the GP or MW for my 2nd EPAU referral. I called the docs and was told there were no appointments left so I asked if I could speak to a Dr. They called me back and after a brief chat they referred me for a scan and sorted me out a Dr's note that I could collect from the recptionist. I still had to wait 5 days for the scan (quite possibly the longest 5 days of my life) but atleast I didn't have to hang about the surgery. I hope your GP will do something like this for you xxx |

| Thank you so much everyone - god I love this site Mario, I so wish I could come to your work!!! I think if it happens again (everything seems to be OK again at the mo ) I'll see if the doc or midwives can refer me straight to EPU. Thanks Lisa, it was the same with Libby, I was constantly going back and forth to the EPU, had 2 early scans and at one point thought it was all over, that was a threatened miscarriage. I always said if I had another and I bleed I'm going to not worry about it because of what went on with Libby and everything was fine but it's easier said than done. again xxxx |

| I was exactly the same too..........Just wanted to add a little reassurance if I may!
I bled with both babies, and ended up with early scan for both too..........in my case everything was fine! The way they explained it to me was that your womb and cervix are brimming with hormones in pregnancy, and in turn they become extremely sensitive and blood engorged.........as lots of blood rushes their to supply oxygen and nutrients until the placenta kicks in......and sometimes your cervix gets a little irritated by all this and bleeds a little!!
Hope this explains a little
I hope this is whats happening xxxxx |

| Oh Susan, sorry you're having this worry again! All I'd say is you know yourself what the system is like, but at the same time an early scan seems the least they could do for you. My GPs have never even heard of a telephone apparently my last GPs was great at doing phone consultations, things like minor queries about prescriptions etc (that you don't want to discuss to a bloody jumped-up receptionist!! ) but it might be worth a try. Hope things ease or at least stay the same for you - and yes it is much easier said than done to try not to worry! xx |

| Hey hun, I hope you are doing ok and the bleeding hasnt increased.
I had the spotting with both Aimee and this pregnancy.
It was mainly brown, but I did have blood tinged a couple of times as well. It is so worrying and it doesnt matter how many times you tell yourself not to worry, you still will.
Try to relax as much as you can and hopefully the next few weeks will go quickly and you can get to see your bubs on a scan x |
