Jamie's in a cot at the moment and quite a small one at that. I think its about 60cm wide. We did think about getting him a cotbed because he fidgets so much and we thought it was affecting his sleep but then he got better. He does tend to end up curled up across the top but I think he would do that anyway. Is it worth getting a cotbed do you think or shall we just leave him in the cot until we get a bed, whenever that may be?

Mmm I suppose it depends how soon you think he will be ready for a big bed!
Charlie has a cotbed, you can take te sides off and it will last until the age of about 5/6 if I need it to.
I've moved him into a big bed now and I think he was only just ready. The cotbed will be for the baby when s/he arrives.
I never went with the cot option so I don't really know how big they can be before they are out of it.

I would try and hold out and get a bed - I would have put Izzy in her bed as soon as she could walk (18 mths) but the room wasnt ready so she didnt go in til 22 months...but I would have been annoyed with myself for getting a cot bed and then a bed so soon ..... but if you think he will stay in the cotbed a while then why not?

See this is what I can't decide. He can walk and it worries me that whenever I get a bed he'll just want to get up and play but I don't know how long he'll be comfy in his cot. The other thing is there's not that much space in the room as one of our sofas in is then so ideally he'd stay in his cot until we move. However, we haven't actually put our flat back on the market yet and we've been trying to sell for years anyway but nothing's moving round here. Hmm I think perhaps I might just keep him in his cot as long as his happy there and then see how we get on. Was only really thinking about it because if we were going to end up with a cot bed then I'd want my money's worth
