I mentioned to a couple of the ladies at nursery that i would be flying on my own with the girls (2 and 4 years old) and they recommended Medised. Not ever used this medicine before, has anyone else? But not sure if i would feel comfortable giving it to them just so they would sleep. I would consider giving them Calpol if they were uptight though, as we do use this on occasion anyway x

Please dont hun!

It is only licensed in over 6's, due to the fact of it causing breathing problems in younger children.....some of which proved fatal.

Thanks for your reply Lisa. That is more than enough to stop me from trying it. Tbh i didn't really like the sound of it anyway, plus the girls are pretty good sleepers anyway x x x

I used to use medised when leo was younger as back then it was 3months plus. never heard of the breathing problem thing, the pharmacist just told me they changed most medicines to over6's aoart from calpol and iburofen. it was brilliant stuff like and when he was ill and i used it he would sleep soundly. how about ising some travell sickness stuff (mind you they probibly done give that to under 6's now!
Wouldnt bother with the calpol though either, cant see how that would help? x

I was just taking Calpol in reserve if they didn't seem themselves. They both have slight colds, so if it made them more comfortable, therefore more likely to sleep well i would give it to them x x x

If they have colds if give calpol and ibuprofen, more because they could suffer pressure in their ears. I know not everyone does but I get it terribly when I fly, and always worse if I've got a cold! I can't think what you can give them to help it, sucking helps so maybe a lolly or a drink?
Never used the other thing tho sorry x
