No hun I don't and neither should you. Thomas was bf for the first 3 months and in that time he got 3 colds nothing major but lots of snot. I witched him to formula at 3 months and between then and now (he is 21 months so 18 months) he has only been ill 3 times - one minor sickness bug that lasted 24 hours and two mild colds - none of which he has required a doctor for. Hannah has been on formula since 5 weeks and is just getting over a cold now - I don't blame myself for stopping bf - I blame the change in the weather and her scrotty brother for putting things in his mouth that might have germs on and sneezing in his siters face Stop beating yourself up - babies get bugs! xx

You definitely haven't let your baby down Amy, don't ever think that huni! Babies just get ill, all part of growning up. Amelia was bf for a year and she still got chicken pox at 12 weeks old. No matter how careful we are they're going to get poorly from time to time. Go and give him a big cuddle and pat yourself on the back for being such a good mummy xxx

Should have added that Bethany started nursery at 8 months old, so from 8 months til 15 months she was B/F but as soon as she started nursery she started picking up bugs and germs, which to be honest is a good thing as it builds their immunity and now Bethany hardly ever gets colds (I've jinxed her now!!) xx

Aimee wasnt bf (she had a little bit that I expressed in hospital after her op but, that is it) and she hasnt really ever been poorly, perhaps a couple of snotty noses and a virus or two. I think that it is just bad luck where they pick it up from. Aimee got gastorentoritis from a Tesco trolly!!! It was the only place we had been in the 2 days prior to it... then she gave it to 11 people! x

I had to stop after two weeks and i did feel guilty the first few times she was poorly BUT they have no immune systems to fight off the virus's until they have had them once so even if you b/f or bottle fed he would be poorly hun dont feel guilty i know its hard but i think the health proffesionals are in the wrong big time because they put so much pressure on us to breast feed when really its a personal choice or like me you might run out of milk and have no option big hugs hun x

you don't give antibodies for colds anyway because the cold virus is constantly changing that's why we continue to get colds... besides even if breastfeeding did prevent colds it doesn't mean theres anything wrong with not doing it. Tyler was mainly formula fed with a little bit of expressed milk for the first 2-4 weeks and he has never been ill... ever. *touch wood*

don't feel bad! Babies and children are gross with sticking things in their mouths, being covered in bogies and coughing and atchooing everywhere! If your baby never got poorly they would never develop their own strong little body

you shouldn't beat yourself up about stopping neither lily-ann or lewis were breastfed and lily-ann has only had about 2 colds and one pukey bug in her whole life and lewis is on his first proper cold at 10months and has had a chest/ear/throat infection but that is it some kids just naturally have a higher/lower immune system
