Got an appointment tomorrow at 9am for yet another sweep, this time Rob is coming with me. When I originally met with my consultant she originally said she wouldn't let me go over by 5 days, when I went last week she booked me in for induction at term plus 12!! Well when I say she did, it was the doctor she kept sending through to talk to me rather than come and talk to me herself. I said about her not wanting me to go over by that much because of my hips and also cos of my scar, and if she'd have come to see me herself she would probably have remembered what she said to me :/ The thing is they keep telling me oh you shouldn't be much longer anyway but they've been telling me that all week. My hips are so bad I find it nearly impossible to get up the stairs so I dread going to the toilet, I need help getting up to bed now, I keep forgetting to eat cos it takes me that much effort to make Harry's meals I just want to sit down again, so I've lost half a stone since my 36 week appointment :/ I can't play with Harry properly and the housework has gone completely to pot; Rob is off for a week on holiday, but he has the oppurtunity to take paternity from sunday if he needs to, and at this rate I'm gonna need him to as I can barely walk, but then he's wasting his paternity

Can I demand they induce me on Monday on the grounds that I can't walk properly or care for Harry properly without help? Instead of having to wait for the 15th.... I'm just in a stupid amount of pain that co-codamol isn't even touching anymore

i would definatly speak up and they may listen to rob more, i hope they get you in sooner hun x

It's difficult because you had a section they only like to induce as a last resort because the risk of rupture is much higher, tell her how you feel, be firm and see what she suggests. They were leaving me 12 days over too, but I went naturally 8 days over x

Thanks for your replies, I just cant see me lasting till term plus 12 without rob's help and then he's just wasted his paternity leave then. So frustrating :-(

Oh hun this baby better hurry up! When you go in I would just make sure that you get them to listen to you and don't leave until you're happy with what has been planned! Cry at them if needs be! I know they won't want to induce you because it can be dangerous but they need to know how much pain you're in! Sending a big hug xxxx

Sorry i don't really know what to say. I don't think you can demand but i think you need to really state your case and get Rob to really back you up, cry a lot if need be to really show how much pain you're in. Big big hugs hun xx

I don't think you can demand an induction and they're always really reluctant to after a c section. I would demand they sit down and talk it through with you though

The amount of pain i'm in at the minute i'm willing to have a section just to get it over with. :-/

Well the sweep was so bloody painful lol i've had contractions every ten mins since. They also brought my induction forward to the 10th instead of the 15th so i'm happy. Lol x

Thanks Zee, I hope so too, but it makes me feel better knowing he'll defo be here no later than Thursday (day before Harry's bday but hey lol) Since the sweep the contractions are 5 minutes apart but they are not that painful, they are bearable and not very long so don't think its anything to act on just yet? :/ Hope they start to hurt soon lol x

Glad you have managed to move the date forward if you dont ask u dont get lol. How are you today hun, are the contractions more painful now ?
