What age do you think it starts to get inappropriate for girls and boys to share a bedroom? Personally I think when they start to notice the differences about their bodies etc. Obviously I know for some it's not an option they have to share but does anyone have their boys and girls sharing just because they like it?

I don't know. If we have another one this could well be an issue because goodness knows if we'll ever be able to sell our flat (although I can't imagine having a girl). My sister has stopped my niece and nephew having baths together in the last year (they're 7 & 9) but they do still sleep in the same bed sometimes. I would guess 8ish possibly. Maybe older

I'd say about 6ish when they start noticing differences and getting curious etc. In social housing etc dont they say they can share rooms till they're 10? :/

I think it depends on the council to be honest

Our council is untill 5 but the new extra bedroom tax that is coming in says they are alright to share untill 10. I think thats far too late, I started my periods and had boobs at 9. I would have been mortified sharing a room with my borther at that age

It is a very western thing though and relatively modern. There are still plenty of places in the world where all the kids share and often with their parents as well

I think everyones entitled to privacy though, especially at an age where everything is developing and kids are self concious. I always shared a room with my sister which was bad enough never having my own space but at least she was a girl

I would say when they start noticing differences and hormones come into play. 7,8,9? My sis started her period at 9 me at 10 and we both had boobs at that age. i wouldn't have wanted to share with a brother.

My niece and nephew were still sharing when she was 13 and him 11 due to council housing!
If I had a girl someone would have to share as 4 kids and 3 bedrooms doesnt work and as i bought my house I cant just get a bigger one )

my two share and im starting to wish they didnt have to anymore.
not because of the body differences etc just because they are developing their personalities more and one wants the door open to sleep, one wants it closed, one want to go to sleep the other doesnt, one wakes up at supid o clock n the other wants to sleep...its just getting so they bug each other x
