The best piece of advice I got when planning our wedding was plan it for you, not for anyone else. Have exactly what you want and if someone doesn't like it then tough because it's your day and no one elses! xxx

the problem is i KNOW that people will turn up...but spend the whole day slating me behind my back because it's their birthday, or they didn't wanna be wearing that shade bridesmaid dress or they had to work xmas day to get NYE off and it's all my fault....am just fed up of it

my brother told his wife we're considering the 8th, she instantly started ranting that WE CAN'T get married on that date cos it's her sister's(dads partner's) birthday!! grrrrrrrr

i didn't want this wedding to begin with, i feel like we've lived together for over 2yrs, had 2kids so getting married is just a piece of paper...but it's important to sam so i'm really trying to get stuck in and make it a good day but people can't just leave off

I know exactly how you feel hun because originally I planned my wedding for NYE 2011 but had the same reaction from a lot of people. The thing is it's very easy to say - stuff em it's my wedding I'll do what I want, but at the end of the day yes we are getting married for us but for me it is about doing it with all my close family and friends around me to celebrate and I would be gutted if people couldn't make or didn't turn up. However for somebody to say I couldn't get maried on a certain day because it was their sisters, mothers, cousins, dogs flippin birthday then I would have to say TOUGH! Even if it was a 'big' birthday (21st, 40th, etc) I still wouldn't change it - surely it is more important to your closest friends and family to se you and Sam married than some silly party and tbh hun if it isn't then you really shouldn't want them there. This wedding malarky is so bloody stressful hun, if you need to vent or you need any help/advice/opinions then this is the place to come. xx

the stupid part debs is that she won't even have a party, she'll just go up the pub for her usual p*ss up...so it's not like im taking her party night!!! but i know she'll proper biatch behind my back

she's the one that came up for lily-ann's birthday last year and bitched behind my back that she didnt wanna be there, the party was taking too long(an hour) she didn't want to go to pizza hut or bowling etc...yet not once did she have the balls to say any of this to my face...prob cos she knows i would have lamped her!! lol
