have just come back from sons swimming test and he has failed , again
whilst there i found out the local council plan to shut our swimming pool / and reduce our community centre to cut costs !!!!
its joined to the high school and the school use it too !
they would only have the community centre open 3 nights a week
i live a stones throw from the sea so it is vital that our children are taught how to swim ! the pool is packed weekly with lessons so if they do close going to the next town would not be an option ! the facility just wouldnt be big enough to take on our town and surrounding villages/towns !
Im so mad
,, have joined the facebook group which is easy to do , 900 joined in a week but i believe the council wont take that into consideration when the "talks" open on 25th october
I wonder if even half of that 900 will pick up a pen and write to council
its not just a swimming pool , all groups are held in centre , mum and toddlers, weightwatchers , stuff for the elderly , cooking classes , martial arts , variety of dance lessons the list is endless
Im hoping our local papers publish a story about the amount of people that have joined the group etc x
