Tonight is the night... big bed _
PostSubject: Tonight is the night... big bed   Tonight is the night... big bed EmptySun Aug 22, 2010 5:23 am

Aimee has been having her daytime naps in her big bed all week, so tonight I thought I would try her out and see how it goes.

OH is out for the evening, so I figure I can do it better on my own.

I put her down 10 mins ago and she got up once... I have put her back and havent heard anything else... yet!

I have been up again to find her peeling the hearts off her wall... she saw me and said 'oh'!

So, I put her back...

I think I can hear her up again though!....

Its going to be a long night!

Can she get out? If not I would leave her to it, it'll be the novelty to start with, she'll sleep when she's tired

I can shut her door, but I dont think it will prevent her from causing havock. Her room is safe.

The last time I went up she had got a shoe out of her toy box and was running around shouting 'shoe' Shocked

I think she is getting the message though, as she ran towards her bed when I went up there. When she is asleep I am going to put her cot mattress down next to the bed in case she falls out. I dont want to do it yet as she will prob sleep on it if I put it on the floor.

After an hour and a half of me running upstairs every few minutes I gave up (im too fat with baby no. 2 to keep running up there so much) Crying or Very sad

Im going to keep with it and get her to do her daytime naps there still.

Perhaps its because its a brand new room too.

I put her back in her cot and she fell asleep within seconds!

Aw bless you hun, sounds like it's been hard work tonight Sad

Just wanted to say though that Libby went through a few nights of getting up and playing with her books etc. but I just left her to it, she would eventually get into bed and go to sleep, although I would find all sorts in her bed in the morning Rolling Eyes Laughing

I'm going to try our lo in her big bed in a few weeks, I've got a week off work so am prepared for a few restless nights. She loves her books and has them all on a low shelf in her room, and I don't want to move them, but now she'll be up 'reading' them all night.
Hope you have a better time next attempt.
