My son has been waking up choking recently. He is 12.5 months old. This started about 3 weeks ago. I asked the doc, but she said his lungs seem clear. It's really scary! He sounds like my OH that has sleep apnea, but the doc says no. Does anyone else have this going on? I don't think it's reflux, as he had that very bad up until he was 7 months old. I know what reflux is like. Any ideas?

What is he choking on hun just coughing? does he eat anything that might produce too much acid near to bed... I think cheese is bad for that? maybe it is similar to reflux... I know I get really bad heartburn sometimes in the night and its like i'm choking maybe it IS that?

It's sort of like coughing, but he sputters first. It's really strange. I guess it could be reflux or heartburn, but it's different from when he was tiny and had it so bad.

hmmm it's odd I dont know what to say did your doctor say what they thought it was?
