Caelyns been going up and down stairs for a couple of months now, she crawls up and bumps back down on her bum. But in last couple of days shes getting panicky about coming back down. She keeps stading at top of stairs crying saying up up with her arms out to me. Shes not slipped or fallen with either of us an used to love 'bumping'

All i can think is that we have been working upstairs for a few days rearranging bedrooms and neils paranoid she will fall so if she ets too close to stairs he shouts to stop her going any further

Not sure what to do about it cos dont wanna turn her into a paranoid baby but prefer that she knows not to do stairs without us. Also dont know how to get her back to going downstairs on her own as shes getting heavy to tote up and down the stairs now

Maybe she's just got to that age where she understands that actually she might hurt herself?

Can you walk her down the stairs holding her hand and showing her how to get down safely? or. errmmmm I dunno
tell her it's ok to bump down them again? Get neil to bump down them first

Bump down on ur bum with her holding hands if needed Jaidenstill likes doin this and he calling the flumping game LOL coz we flump dpwn the stairs

Get her a sledge...she'd love that!

I cant really offer any good advice as Izzy doesnt come down ours on her own yet as the are wooden and pretty slippy, instead we hold her hands and she walks down.

well ive taken to sittng on stairs and putting her on my knee and bumping with her on my lap. shes finding it fun again and shouting bump with each stepand persuaed her to d last stair on her own today, gonna try a couple of stairs tommorrow

Oliver went through a similar stage a few months back after being quite confident on the stairs, walking down (with us in front of him)..then he'd just create with his hands up. But we do the bump down each step whilst he holds my hand..he loves it now and seems to be back how he was and come's down the stairs unaided again.

It possible it is our fears rubbing off on them and them picking up on it. OH does this alot with Oliver and is making him a nervous wreck
