I came on the morning and went i went to the loo i heard a plop down the toilet, i had passed quite a big blood clot....is it normal to get these? Ive never had any clots in my period before but i remember my mum talking about it before, so is it common or something to worry about?

ermm i find if I've been sitting down all day or alot I tend to get gushes (sorry ) when go to the loo....

During your period, your body will release anticoagulants that keep the blood fluid and thinned. However, if your flow is extremely strong, the blood may pass before the anticoagulants can work. In this case, the blood may clot as it is passed.

However, there are times when blood clots should be a reason for concern. If you are passing clots that are bigger than a 50p on a regular basis, it could be a sign of something else.

never had either, i would keep an eye on it and maybe see a nurse or something if it keeps going - especially if it's unusual for you

Urgh that reminds me of when i passed a huge clot after havin lilly
