| hiya all, I really hope someone will help me, this week we have stopped giving Alice her milk in a bottle, we have bought her her own special cup and everything and she just will not take it.
its been 3 days now since she had any milk and i am starting to worry. I dont want to give in and give her a bottle as A) she is a bit big for one and B) if for any reason i can BF this time i dont want her getting all stressed out when it comes to feeding Edith etc.
Has anyone got any advice please ?? |

| ahh I see why the sad faces in my thread!
Well I have NO advice because Izzy will not take milk from anything other than her bottle - I have tried her with her normal Avent bottle and the beaker lid - she has a huge hissy fit almost wont look at it - until I literally force it in her mouth and she will take some but hardly any and then gets more upset
In the end it gets too stressful and I give her a bottle.
So we are in the same boat - I know I need to swap and I don't want to do it |

| Sorry hun I can't really help coz Thomas still has his milk from a bottle morning and night. He wont take it from anything else - he likes his bottle and tbh I like the cuddles we have whilst he is having it . He doesn't really understand at the moment so I will let him have it a little longer as if I take his bottles away but Hannah still has hers Im worried he will resent her and feel left out. I did worry about Thomas wanting Hannahs bottles all the time as I always planned to bf for 1 month only. He did show an interest and kept trying to pinch her bottles but I soon solved that by letting him have one, he tasted the formula, spat it out, made a bllleeeuuurrrggghhhh!!!!! sound, threw the bottle on the floor and has never been near one since If he is ever trying to mither me now when im feeding Hannah I just offer him a taste and he runs a mile xx |

| Alice does cuddles too, she ALWAYs has her night bottle on daddys knee and morning whoever is up with her.
i feel so bad that she hasnt had any milk for 3 days, its not affecting her sleep or routine not having it tho which i thought it might.
Do i just persevere????
whatever i give it in (other than bottle) she takes 1 drink and thats it! game over! |

| Yup same with Izzy, one go if I make her and thats it - hissy fit
It is very good for them to have it as its got calcium etc in which they certainly need, so for now I am going to just let her carry on - she gets her teeth brushed a little bit after so shouldn't be harming her teeth |

| Girls I say let em have one!!
Lottie was the same and only gave in her bedtime bottle when she was just gone 2. I too had tried to take it off her and failed numerous times. She would drink during the day out of a cup but still demanded a bottle before bed.
Anyway - we had a busy few days and she ended up going to bed without one a couple of times cos we got in late etc and then that was it she did it with no fuss.

| Awwww give her the bottle of milk. lol
Seriously though if she only has morning and bedtime bottle and its always in the house i wouldnt worry about taking it off her for quite a while ye, its a comfort.
But if you do still wanna take the bottle away i would just persevere. I wouldnt worry too much about the milk intake, as long as they are having a balanced diet which knowing you two they are, they will be getting enough nutrients. At their age its more of a comfort thing and a drink than something they need for nutritional value xxxx |

| When we switched, we just offered the odd sips of milk in a cup through out the day but still kept his 'routine' bottles. At 1st he did look confuddled about drinking milk from a cup and it took a while, but when I noticed he was taking it I swapped his afternoon bottle for a cup but still kept his bedtime bottle, then a week or so later swapped his bed time bottle for a cup also. We still have cuddles too |

| Yeah im down to bottle morning and evening with c now. She has her morning one lying in her cot then puts it down and goes back to sleep and evening one on my knee. Id like to put her to cups but she only drinks about 2oz if i do that. Im waiting til after holiday then might try lunchtime giving her milk in a cup to get her used to it for a wee while then try the bedtime one, gonna leave morning one for a wee while cos she has it in bed before she nods off again |
