So as alot of you know I put on FB that we are having a little boy, it was a spurr of the moment because we were fed up of keeping it a secret. I tried nearly straight away (bar a few minutes) to ring my parents and tell them too - it was engaged. So eventually got through and my brother had been on the phone telling them about my status!! Anyway they were happy blah blah saying congratulations and mum's excited now she can start buying stuff etc......

Then 2 hours later I get a snotty text message from my SIL saying 'Hi, not sure if this is still your number. I am absolutely gobsmacked you did not tell your own mum the sex of your new baby before the whole internet world! Unforgivable' Now I haven't seen my brother or SIL since May, they dont keep in touch to see how Libby is (hence why she didnt know it was still my number!)

I was so upset last night I couldnt sleep, I havent responded to the message - I just dont know what to say to her!! There was no congratulations or how's Libby just a pathetic dig at me. It hurts that her or my brother havent made the effort to see their neice yet get in touch to send a message like that

Sorry no need for a response just needed to get it out. I'm seeing my parents this morning and I'm worried that they've said something to them to make her send the message.

I tried for a good 15 mins to get hold of my mum and when I did she said oh I've just been on the phone to Kev - hes on his own at the moment, so basically she must of sent it when she got home!

My mums just rang asking if I wanted a bacon sarnie so shes obviously fine with me - well apart from I just burst out crying - could hardly talk so now shes worried about me

I think I'm more upset at the fact they are just not interested in Libby - she's their only neice and like I said they havent seen her since May (I have tried - I've asked them to pop round, I've asked if I can pop round theirs but nothing).

Grrrrr fricking hormones doesn't help either!!!!!

Well went round my parents and they just said ignore them, I told them I was worried I'd upset them but they said they were fine. My mum did say that when Kev rang her he asked if she knew I was having a boy and she said no and he told her I'd put it on my FB (baring in mind that exact moment I was trying to ring her!!!) and she jokingly said 'trust her to put it on there first' but she said it jokingly and was laughing.

Well they can feck off as far as I'm concerned, I'm not making an effect anymore, dont see why I should!

Well I've been mulling it all over today and TBH still feel down about it - and for some stupid reason really guilty.

My mum text me this afternoon asking if we wanted to go for lunch on Boxing day after telling me this morning that my brother and SIL are going - why the hell would I want to I do appreciate that she's trying to bring us all together to sort things out but as far as I'm concerned it isnt down to my parents, if my brother wants to see us then HE should be the one to instigate it.

I dont know, I'm still really hurt by it all.

I do understand what my parents are trying to do and I do appreciate it, Simon is seriously pissed off with them (SIL mostly though) and doesnt want anything to do with them, which I completely understand as he's seen the mess I've been in last night and today.

So again I'm in the middle, I really wanted Libby (and of course little man now) to have a good relationship with my family as I never really had that with moving about alot in England and Germany - but I just dont know if I can back down - not now.
