in our car it's been there for a week now and getting worse, we have cleaned the carpet (as much as we can) and taken any rubbish etc out....what on earth could it be???

any ideas as to what we can do to get rid of it???!!

Our van stinks at the minute because of us getting in it with snow on our feet so much - the carpets are giving out a minging fart smell

ohhh maybe that could be part of it! we had to use carpet spray stuff, but maybe we need to try and shampoo it somehow...how inconvenient

ours is the same with all the damp from the snow, i just use lots of febreze.

'wash it with febreze' i HATE that advert

Ours has an awful smell too but I know it's cause Imogen poured her bottle of milk over the seat when we were travelling over Christmas. We've washed and washed it but you can still smell it.

marc recons it could be ammonia off the chemicals they put on the road and footpaths hun in all the snow our car has it too and its off the stuff he put down at work called ice melt xx

Bicarb of soda shud probs do it, pour it on leave it for a while then hoover out car

thats probably the best idea, but we live up 2 sets of stairs we have put vacuum free carpet cleaner on it but obviously what it really needs is a good rinse!
