I crashed my car yesterday :-(

I skidded on some black ice and crashed head on into one of those concrete barriers (you know the ones that councils use to keep travellers etc off land). Lottie was in the car at the same time but luckily it was low impact, but the air bag deployed. It was really icy on the road as I nearly slipped when I got out of the car, and a guy that stopped to help me nearly slipped too.

Today I am aching everywhere and feel so sore!!

It looks like the car may be written off though (it was only an 01 Fiesta), but we are stuck with one car at the moment which isn't too bad as OH is off with the flu, but I dont live close to work and have to drop the girls off at different nurseries. Fingers crossed we get a courtersy car until it's fixed or they pay out.

I'm just grateful it wasn't really serious and no one was hurt, or that we didn't skid into another car or anything.

So if you are travelling in icy weather, please, please be careful xx

OMG Pepper!!!!!!!!!! Thank god you're both ok, how terrifying!!! I hope you get a courtesy car asap, it's such a pain in the arse when you're used to having 2 cars xxx

i near landed up in the harbour and a wall the other day down to flipping ice and went right through a crossroads cos i couldnt stop my car

some poor woman was on a back road here next to a canal and slid on black ice , landed in the canal on her roof ,, she was very very lucky that a man drove by , he joked thats no place to park a car then seen her hand against the window !

Glad you and lottie are both ok. Cars can always be replaced people can't, hope you get a replacement car soon as I hate not having my own car anymore. I hope you feel better soon, do you think you should maybe get yourself checked out in a and e just to be safe.

I have taken some paracetamol and Ibuprofen and am feeling a little better. I think I may have a long got soak in the bath tonight.

Just keep telling myself that it could have been much worse!!

At least you are both okay.

When my airbag went off years ago I ended up with a burn on my chin and neck from it. It ruined my fleece jacket too.
