i'm anaemic, no surprise really i always am.

i was wondering could i breastfeed if anemic, i'm thinking that the iron will go to bubs and i'm going to be low for a while
and not sure this is a good idea with a newborn.

just wondered if any ladies had any experience of this

thanks

were you aneamic before you were pregnant?

I had pregnancy related aneamia but no one bothered after I had my baby and I just assumed it would go away once she was here (and then didn't give it much thought cos I was too busy OMGing about having a baby Laughing) You could try eating lots of iron rich foods, and there's that water you add to orange juice.... spatone?

I was very anaemic after having Stephen due to a large blood loss and I had to take loads and loads of iron tablets and eat iron rich food but I still breastfed. You would just need to take extra care of yourself and eat really well xxx

Thanks ladies that's put my mind at ease, I'm always anemic only slightly but always have been,
But you know how your mind wonders about things, I really want to try breast feeding, as i east allowed with rich due to meds I was on for pain.

But thank you for the information I actually feel positive about it again xx
