How as an adult do you make new friends?
Where do you go?
I'm joining a mum and toddler group this week but other than that no idea.
I'm quite outgoing and sociable or atleast I use to be, now I'm a recluse I have no one I can meet as all my 'friends' are busy with their own lives.

I need some people I can do things with, meet up have a laugh and maybe go out every now and then!

I only come on here and Unfortunatly there isn't really anyone close enough I could become real friends with that I know of.
I still have some good friends from school. But they are off living their lives and don't have children and work a lot.
God it's desperate really isn't it, asking how to make friends lol.

They should have dating type websites for making friends. Lol wonder what peoples profiles would say if there was such a thing!

you mean my facebook friends don't count?? Shocked Making 'real' friends 517725

I'm rubbish at talking to new people, but it's not that I'm shy or anything.... I'm just really not interested. I have my friends from school and anyone that I've been friends with since has not lasted very long in my life so I tend to not make the effort.

Gee, I sound like an anti-social biatch.... I'm really lovely!! Laughing Laughing

Lol pixel!

Clare I agree men are easier, however I'm pretty sure my oh would have something to say if I started hanging out with loads of men lol!

Mara I've not been on net mums but as you wrote the message I did a search for it, may see if there's anything interesting on there. Thanks!

I would go to a local group or toddler gym type thing, hang around for a few week and just trying chatting and getting to know people. Most of my now mummy friends are girls i went to school with but wasnt actually friends with them at school lol.

ummmmm classes really, uni, college (although not really in touch with school/college people anymore), met a few people at baby classes and some at yoga here but i generally can't be arsed....it's nice to say hi to people at a group or something but i don't really feel the need to spend hours on the phone cos i have bugger all to gossip about Laughing

oh, and work as well, most people i am in touch with these days are from work Smile

Thanks guys I'll look at net mums and see how the groups go.

Gem me and my cousins are all very close but they work etc.

Helz I live in the same town as donc17 but I'm pretty sure she's the only one around! We meet up every now an then but she's busy with her fella and working so doesn't happen too often.

I have a small group of friends around here, i met them all from a mum and baby group. The first one i went to was run by our health visitors and she put 3 of us together whos first time it was and we all had babies within 2 weeks of each other. Then more people joined our little group all met from mum and baby. We occasionally have girls nights in and we meet up several times a week with the kids Smile

Other than that I have no suggestions!

Hi

I've met most of my friends through work and quite a few through my kids ie school and football team. Ive also got my school friends that are still my friends.

I think the suggestion of netmums is the best idea though OR move up here and I'll be your friend xxxx
