OMG I am sure I must have the grumpiest baby ever, hate to grumble cos she is beautiful but seriously if she is not asleep then she just cries and when I say cry I mean screams it! Its driving me mad, shes always been like this and a few months ago it seemed to almost stop (she walked at 14months so may have helped at the time) or improve, but its been back with a vengeance for a bout 5 days now and only thing I can put it down to is that my husband spent last week with us as holiday but went back to work Monday.

I honestly don't know why she cries almost the whole time she is awake its really draining me, and my neighbours have mentioned to me that they hear her crying a lot, its so hard cos I get ratty with my son if he makes the slightest bit of noise on top of her screaming and its not his fault.

Any advise or anyone having something similar with there toddler. She is 16 months and very demanding, she is stubborn tells me No constantly and hardly ever smiles lately its really sad to see her so negative.

Think a hug is needed!

Read the baby whisperer lian - theres a baby and a toddler version and she categorises babies into 5 categories - angel, textbook, touchy, spirited and grumpy (c is 100% spirited). You can do a quiz but sounds like elleah might be touchy or grumpy and she suggests ways to help them. You can also google baby whisperer forums and they have threads on support for mums with spirited/touchy or grumpy babies for mums who have similar kids who have ideas on what might help. Has helped me a lot with some of C's more challenging behaviours

LOL..Makynlee is the same way a majority of the time! It's our own fault for catering to her every whimper..she now expects us to jump at the drop of a dime! When we don't move fast enough..she will let out this screech scream that literally will shatter glass! She has more attitude than most Hollywood Starlettes! Feel for ya hun! xxx

The book is pretty good too Lian, Ive got baby whisperer for toddlers im working thru at mo and its got some sane advice in there if you are prepared to shell out the dollar on amazon. Def helped me with madam's temper tantrums. Now she gets put in the centre of the room while i put me feet up and watch telly. Once shes done we have a cuddle!

A lot of her advice on grumpy babies as i recall was around how you structure their day and giving them extra time for things. If i get time this weekend i'll leaf thru it and post a couple of bits up
