| I'm confused about my ovulation or lack of it! I'm using the ovulation packs properly for the first time this month (I'm sorry I'm really crap at knowing all the abbreviations so you're going to get the long way I'm afraid) and I started testing on Day 10 of my cycle, the last couple of days I've been getting all the signs of ov, cramping on one side, cervical mucus has changed etc but it's still coming up negative. Is that normal, do the physical signs show before the hormone is present? Sorry if I sound silly, just wondered if anyone who knows more about these things can help xx |

| I'm not really clued up on ov tests, but do they not tell you when you are actually ov'ing (the actual day) I get increased CM (cervical mucus), back ache and tummy pulling all leading upto ov, then on the actual day I get the EWCM (egg white CM) and my cervix is high/soft. You can be fertile 5/6 days prior to ovulation but obviously you'll get a higher chance of conceiving closer to ovulation. Check out this site http://www.pregnology.com/ (When am I ovulating) I like it cos it gives you a rough day by day account of what is happening. It might be that the ov sticks pick up that luteinizing hormone thats mentioned so you may get a faint positive ov test the day before ovulation and actually on the day |

| Mandy have you had any sort of line at all? I found that when I used opks (ovulation prediction kits) I would get a line that increased in strength but never actually became darker than the control line. I too the strongest line as my positive and low and behold I ws right.
Also how many times a day are you testing and what brand are you using? I used branded when trying for Charlie and only tested once a day as they were expensive, but recently before we decided on a holiday over ttc I was using Internet cheapies, I tested 2/3 times a day so I could really pin point ovulation within hours!
I'm not sure about pains etc I always use to get the sharp stabbing pain the day of ov but that's not the same for everyone. Also I never got egg White cervical mucas. The things that tend to be a constant between all women is that position of your cervix and the softness as well.

Kell, I've not had any line at all, I'm only testing once a day usually in the afternoon, and I'm just using some I got off ebay x |

| are you charting temps? how are you doing it? internal or external? If you get a dip then three rises in a row you are ovulating on the day of the dip i believe! Temp charting is the only sure fire way to know if you are ovulating definatly, The ovp's will detect a surge in hormone levels but you can get that surge without ovulating hth x |
