Right, as I really should be taking this more 'serious' lol, we're going to try the OPKs route.

So need to get clued up. Anyone used/using them could you fill me in.

-when do I start using them?
-whats the best time of the day to use them?
-will I only get a positive opk on the day of ovulation or 1 or 2 days before?

Any other info would be helpful too, cheers muchly Very Happy

EDIT- also what brand or where to buy? are the ebay ones as good as any other?

Well 1st of I'll say ive been using ov tests from ebay for over a year and have never once had a problem with them, so definately go for those. To answer your q's:

1. Start using them from around cd 10 of your cycle.
2.Dont use them 1st thing in the morning , I normally test around 11am and 6pm
3. When you get a positive it means that a lh surge has been detected and you will ovulate any time within 12-36 hours of the + test.

- Also worth knowing that once the egg has been released it can live for upto 24 hours.
- If you dont get a lot of fertile cm (egg white looking mucus) then up your water intake.
- You can look out for other signs of ovulation - tender boobs, pains in left or right side, headaches , more interested in sex.

These are the tests I get :

Thanks Nutty Very Happy

So even if my cycles are approx 37 days long, would I still start testing from CD10?

Also, I noticed you put '11am and 6pm'. Do you need to test twice a day, every day?

sorry for all the questions Laughing

I've ordered some from ebay and we'll see how we go.

Well if your cycles are always around that kind of length then you could probably get away with starting them at around day 13, I wouldnt start them any later than that as for whatever reason you may have a short cycle and then you might miss the surge. The only reason I put about testing twice a day is because you can go from a - test to a + in the space of those hours, ive had it happen to me several times. When you do start testing with them any faint 2nd line you get just ignore, for it to be a positive test it has to be the same colour and darkness as the control line. Any other q's feel free to ask me Smile I feel like quite an expert the amount of time ive been doing all this lol x
