Alyssa's dirty nappies had changed to a yellow colour, but the one I changed earlier was yellow with bits of green in it.

On the care plan I have from the hospital the advice sheet says if they return to a green colour you should speak to the MW.

Does yellow with green bits in sound normal to you or not?? xx

ummm I think if your bf anything goes and if your bottle feeding green can mean constipation or too much iron or colic.

but it could also be normal. if she's fine in herself I wouldn't worry hun and omg 1 week old already!!

depends on how you are feeding her really - if you are bf as jade says it depends on what you have been eating - if it's bright green, with discomfort etc then maybe be concerned, but if it was just a one off with bits of green i don't think its a big deal - if it keeps going/is weird consistancy/smell etc then give mw or hv a ring as she might have an upset tummy (also if you are bf it can mean she is taking too much 'fore' milk and not enough hind milk but if she is bottlefed obviously that can't be the case!)

sometimes green means she is getting alot of fore milk, common until your supply stabilises hun.

Yeah she's bottlefed, its only been like that for the last one, so im waiting for her to poo again now so I can see what colour it is lol! If its any more green I will give the MW a call tomorrow as im not seeing them now until Friday. xx

I think the make of milk makes a huge difference too. Lily used to have brown poo but I swapped her to aptimil and it has been like chicken korma ever since.

What milk is she on? X

She's on SMA Gold, when I ring to get my appointment time for Friday yesterday I asked them about it and they said it sounds normal and that if she has more wind or takes more milk or less milk then it will be more green than yellow.

She also said she thinks half the time they give out these advice forms and they end up panicking new mums as it's not always something wrong XX

I remember being being absolutely petrified and in bits because Libbys poo was bright green with blood spots in it, we rushed her to A&E and they just felt her tummy and said she was fine!!
