Baby is doing one thing right... head down, but is currently back to back. Mw said this is probs why bump has been hurting so much as all the limbs are poking at me in the front. She gave me a few suggestions for encouraging baby to move. Anyone had much success moving baby round or did you end up going into labour with baby back to back?

I went into labour back to back, but didnt know until I was 8cm. I had a feeling as I used to feel like she was throwing me across the sofa when she moved, it was so forceful, and I could always see her legs and feet. It really slowed my labour down and I spent ages at 8cm (a good few hours). In the end I had an epi and had to lay on my left side to encourage her to wriggle around, which she did in the end and was born with no probs xxx

Jamie turned and went back to back during labour and nothing they did would move him. I got stuck at 6cm and had an emergency c-section. However mw did say it could make no difference at all and I think my labour was slow because I was induced early and he wasn't ready to come out

hi shell, i was back to back with benji...got told at last mw checkup at 41 weeks that he had turned back to back lol got induced and din't progress because he hadn't turned, i think b2b makes the labour longer and more in your back!! Try down on all fours scrubbing floors and sitting straddled on a chair...they helped me, i did get him to turn just before i was in established labour (sitting on bouncing ball in hossy!! on day 2!) and he had turned back to b2b by the third day...babies have their own ideas lol the pain in my back wasn't the nicest feeling, but you can do it no probs (if lil guy hasn't turned himself by then ) good luck hun!! xxx (can't believe you only have 6 weeks left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) xx

elijah was back to back.....i was induced and my labour was 2 hours 24 mins (or was it 34 hmm). he came out looking at the stars as they say, i didnt have stitches, tears or anything....i mean it was quite sore but i definitely didn't die and it wasn't as bad as i was expecting labour to be so im not put off at all, maybe im hard! i really wouldn't worry about it, just do what you can do, baby will come out one way or another

Tyler was back to back and they tried to turn him during labour (they didn't mention doing anything to encourage him to turn before labor) I was induced on drip and labour was 8 hours (from when they put in the drip to birth) and no pain relief.. the attempted turning during labour was pretty painful, but it was only like 30 seconds of pain. he came out fine but Im not sure which way up he was as they didn't say!

I was induced early because they thought he was already over 10lbs, I was in lots of pain from SPD and had already had some other complications. I think more than anything they were worried I'd go into labour over the Christmas period when they didn't have many staff in
