Does anyone have an online jewellery shop they can recommend please? I'm trying to see if I can find some wedding rings for cheaper than what we've found already. Thanks Smile

Sorry no, but lots of places do only charge for weight of the gold when selling wedding rings. Gold is just so expensive at the moment that it's difficult to find cheap rings. We got ours in Manchester city centre from this really old goldsmith place. We paid just for the weight of the gold.

I quite like silver though, what are you going for?

If your thinking white gold - compare with silver.. its just gold naturally isn't white and the gold is mixed with different alloys to make a grey/silver coloured gold, which is then rhodium plated to make it pretty and shiny like silver or platinum. Over the course of time the rhodium plating wears off thereby leaving you with a grey looking ring. It can be re-rhodiumed but most jewellers have to send it to a workshop meaning no ring for you for up to 3 weeks.
If either of you do manual work or use chemicals or hand creams, cleaning products whilst wearing the ring it eats through the rhodium shortening its longevity and would need doing more regularly. I used to work for Goldsmiths the Jewellers and they guaranteed their white gold for 2 years, after that it was about £30 a ring to be done.
As it looks the same I personally would buy silver. The only person needing to know is you and hubby. otherwise platinum but thats quite a bit more costly
Sorry for the essay Laughing

I would say silver as well for same reasons as above. I have a platinum and you can't tell the difference really x

We looked at jewellery quarter and found them to be expensive,

We got ours from Ernest jones in end, as they match my engagement ring, but cheapest and nice ones we saw were Argos. The rings done need to be a fortune ours are scratched after nearly 4 yes of marriage I'm glad we didn't go for the expensive ones xx

I got my wedding ring from Argos. I wasn't too fussed about a posh one. Mine is a simple white gold band that cost £25
