Need some ideas please. On the days that Cerys and I stay in the house, I need something creative for us to do apart from painting and baking Laughing What sort of crafty things do you do with your LO's???

Hmm, does watching Pingu count?? Laughing
When we get time i try to do some things like this

http://homeschoolcreations.blogspot.com/2009/04/chugga-chugga-choo-choo.html
http://playandlearnwithdana.blogspot.com/2011/01/christmas-i-spy-bottles.html
http://www.ikatbag.com/2009/10/carville.html

although my versions look completely rubbish, and Milo gets bored and wanders off halfway through.. but I have fun!

I got Izzy a set of facepaints (£9.99 I think) from ToyrUs at Xmas....very popular!
She loves to have her face done...but also LOVES to do mine Laughing

....Plasticine (or as she calls it 'mod'lin clay)

.........She has lots of musical instruments (again got a fab set from toysrus) with lots of percussion instruments - she does lots of that at Rhythm Time so is getting good at keeping a beat etc

.....she loves glue and glitter but Im a mean mummy and that can stay at nursery Laughing

Ellie got a play doh in a set for Christmas, you make sausages and burgers etc. I seen an elmo play doh set in Argos last week which was half price £9.98 I think. Ellie (and me) have hours of fun with it Smile

IF you dont like play dough ( i dont, it smells horrid and gets everywhere) I have a salt dough recipe i can dig out and also an edible dough recipe (although has peanut butter in so depends on allergies) The salt dough is great coz its easy to make, inexpensive (just flour, salt and water) and also if your little one likes making cool models (Sophs just rolls it about a bit at the mo) you can bake it, then paint it and you have alovely model to keep forever, great for making special gifts too.

Mainly i do baking or art stuff with sophs. Been thinking about making sock puppets for a while though and today we just enjoyed making a lovely camp with blankets and sleeping bags and scrunched newspaper as a fire. Simple but great fun and got her imagination going.

Sticker books are great too!

MAndy xx

One of Lily's favourite things is cutting up old cards and then using pritt stick to stick them on sheets of paper to make new 'cards'. She then draws pics on the inside and it keeps her occupied for hours! She also likes cleaning and a bowl of water for her to wash her tea sets and a cloth for her to do cleaning is also another favourite with her x

doesn't have to be messy Smile you can get lots of tissue paper and stick it to things.. ummm cut out some shapes from cardboard (or cereal boxes when you finish them) like we did some masks the other day so cut out big animal head shapes and we let Tyler paint them but you could stick tissue paper to them.. make some nice butterflies or fairies or something Very Happy
