So, Sophia is all trained during the day, took no time at all and rarely has an accident, only really when she feels a bit insecure due to joshy sharing her mummy and daddy too.

But we havent taken the plunge properly on night times. We got pull ups for her at nights but it quickly became a game to wee in them as soon as we went downstairs (despite going to the loo before us finishing the bed routine each night)

So we tried last night with no pull up or nappy but unfortunately she only made it to one o clock.

Any tips for getting them through?

Have heard about rousing them when u go t bed and sitting them on the loo but suggested to oh and he was not keen, feeling that it would just disturb her rest. Not sure how it would go but think he may be right.

Ta in advance lovely ladies,

MAndy xx

Chloe still isn't dry at night, despite being dry during the day for probably a year now,we tried her for a week, and put her on the potty when we went to bed as well and she managed 3 out of 7 dry nights but ended up getting really upset by accidents, so we decided to wait a but longer

We're going to wait until she has a few dry nights in the pull ups before trying again. Sophia is still quite young so don't worry too much x

Ok cool, wont worry then, but the thing is, she has often gone through whole night in nappy or pull up, not often wetting at night. But lately seems to be more frequent. MAybe anxiety due to new baby?

She has water at her bedside but always does and reluctant to take away, partic as she often has colds so needs it.

Think though will leave for a few weeks then, last thing i want is to make ehr anxious about it coz that will just make it worse!

Yeh could be because of Joshua, you may find that if she's often dry anyway, just the act of putting her in knickers and telling her that's what you're doing will be enough.

As for putting them on the loo at night. It never disturbed chloes sleep, we woke her up enough for her to know what she was doing but not too much and she always went straight back off after x

Mandy, Sophia is still really young, I wouldn't worry. Isla has been dry at night for around a month, however, she has done that by herself. We had a number of mornings when she woke up dry, so we just started to praise her and give her a sticker, then asked if she wanted to wear knickers to bed once she had been dry for a couple of weeks without accidents.

Sophia has done really well training with a new baby in the house. Personally I would just leave her in nappies at bed time until she naturally starts to go through the night x x x

Meant to say we also leave the potty in her room at night in case she wants it. We have never tried the 'lifting' technique x

Thanks Fran and Mandy

/yep, will take ur advice and leave for a bit. Thats a good idea just to praise wach time she is dry in nappy in the morning then give her the option of knickers after doing several dry nights. Might try that.

Olivers still in pull ups at night too. I did attempt to 'train' him, and we'd pop him on the potty about 10pm for a tinkle then pull up back on and in bed. A few weeks of doing that seemed to work and he was always dry at 10pm and would get up himself for an early morning tinkle at about 5am.
Then it got to the point where it was pot luck though whether he was dry or not though. 80% of the time he was..but then it just seemed to start going a bit back wards and was always wet before 10pm or wet on a morning despite doing a midnight tinkle scratch

We decided not to push it and maybe try again in the summer. Tbh..its not like he's totally incontinent of a night he only seems to dampen his pull up (maybe one tinkles worth) cos he always does a big wee on his potty when he gets up.. but obviously somethings just not twigged in his brain yet to hold his wee's during the night or there is just no message being recieved by his brain when he needs to pee lol...either way he'll do it when he's ready Smile

In Sophia's case she has had a lot of adjusting to deal with so I wouldn't worry to much at all Wink

Well, Sophia asked to not wear her napy last night. She came down at ten to use the toilet! But then she decided she wanted to go the rest of the night with nappy so all good. And she was dry this morning.

Again tonight she chose not to wear a nappy so we will see how she goes.

Not gonna push going without a nappy, but if she chooses to am def gonna let her try. She seems to be getting it as she came down to the loo. If she comes down again tonight will again give her the option of putting nappy on if she wants.

I know i said i would leave it and i do appreciate all advice, but like with nappy training in day, in the end was totally on her lead.

Completely agree Mandy, there's no right or wrong way to do it, if you let her take the lead it'll be less stressful all round x

Well, she did come down the next night to wee, but then was sick! Some d and v bug! Despite it though she has come down when she has needed to.

Last night sickness all cleared thank god, as dave away and had them to deal with on my own! She came in twice in the night for me to take her down to loo.

There has been a potty in her room. Tonight at bed i encoraged her to use the potty if she needed to get up. I need my sleep! But so proud of her!

Ellie is still in nappies during the night. She's great in the daytime so I'm not too bothered about nights. With my other two I just left them in nappies until the nappies were dry and then whipped them off. xx

Pen, lovely to see you back. Missed you lots!

Well, Sophia seems to have cracked it, no more nappies days or night!
