I've been breastfeeding Thomas but he has the odd bottle too. He's one next week so we decided to try him with some cows milk which he had a couple of times fine, but the last couple of days, all of a sudden he has refused boob feeds and cows milk. Is this just a funny phase or do I need to try him with something else? If he doesn't have milk will he be ok with higher amounts of cheese/yoghurts etc? Thanks

Well i got told off for giving Joshua too much milk when i went for his one year review. Apparently they only need one pint of milk and that can easily come from yoghurt, cheese, and milk on cereal/mixed with porridge. so i would say its ok if he's refusing milk atm as long as he is getting other sources. Maybe keep offering one cup of milk though if you feel he's not getting enough, it might be a phase. is he teething? Immi used to refuse milk or bottle when her teeth were really hurting her

Jamie went through stages of refusing milk. It was normally when he was teething or wasn't feeling well. As Shell said they should be having 21oz up to a year (although you have no way of knowing when you're bf) but that can come from the stuff in their food as well

Sounds like a nursing strike which is really common at his age. Have a look at this for some ideas for getting him back to the breast if thats what you want x http://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/child/back-to-breast/

Thanks everyone. Yesterday all of a sudden he just decided to start feeding again so I don't know if it was teething or what but last night he was really poorly with temperature and vomiting so I don't know if he was feeling ill all the time although he didn't seem it! x
