I've never used them myself so don't have any experience of them but mothercare have decided to pull them from the shelves whilst they are investigated for being too dangerous. Just thought it might be of interest xxx http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1316484/Baby-sleep-positioners-dangerous-use-warn-U-S-officials-Mothercare-pulls-shelves.html

Can anyone say alarmist??? There's nothing we can do or not do with our babies that isn't going to cause some unavoidable harm to them according to some specialist or other! I know that sometimes these things are useful, but in my personal opinion 90% of this stuff only serves to make motherhood stressful and worrying

I know what you mean, I think everything is designed to panic us and make motherhood as stressful as possible these days!

Oh well, mine will be spoiled and unable to fend for himself cos I feed him when he feels like it *and* I feed him to sleep sometimes - awful parents aren't we! I just can't take it too seriously and I hope that common sense will be enough to keep my baby as safe as I can...

no I don't think they are - we used rolled up towels under Elijah's arms when he was little and wanted to sleep on his face, he's fine now. The picture at the bottom is insane, I can't imagine it is common for a baby to end up in that position!

we used a sleep positioner for Tyler and he was fine.. my mum used blankets for me and my sisters we're all fine. The articles said 12 babies have died since 1997... now I know that's horrible for the parents but 12 in 13 years isn't enough to warrant them a dangerous killer is there I wonder how many deaths they have prevented??
