Hi everyone,

i just wanted to say thank you for your comments and messages over the last day or so, it was lovely to read them all while i was in hospital! Killed my battery on my phone mind

So her goes,
Edith Maria Asquith arrived at 11.29am on 01-10-10
she weighed in at 7lb 13oz and was 53.5cm long.

Birth story goes like this

On thurs as most of you know, i had a show, and then NOTHING!!!!! despite hoovering the stairs will maras hetty, putting the new car seat base in ready for her coming home etc....

so i went to bed utterly disappointed, then had another show about 10.30 but still nothing!

at 2.15 i woke up to find adam still awake he hadnt been able to sleep i then started getting a few twinges so decided to get up and let adam try and get some sleep as i thought something might happen later on friday.
i watched some iplayer stuff i wanted to catch up on and at 4.15 decided to try and get some sleep as the twinges werent regular and were anything between 2 and 10 mins.

at 4.45 i felt a pop in my belly, and so i just laid there not moving cos i knew exactly what was happening!

anyhoo i turned over and gushed! woke adam up who by that point had probably had an hour and halfs kip! he was mucho impressed by this as last time with alice he had only managed an hours sleep before i woke him then too
I went to the loo and there was meconium(sp) in them so we went straight to hospital and they told me there and then i would be kept in 24 hours!

i was taken straight to labour suite and put on a monitor and drip to speed up and regulate the contractions, i requested epidural straight away because i am rubbish at giving birth and was told i could have one no problem (they told me thats why they were putting me on the drip i dont think thats true now)
but started off on G&A until the aneasthatist (sic) was available by 9.30 she was still too busy and by that point surprise surprise i was fully dilated and it was time to push!!!

I bloody knew i wouldnt get one! by 11am i was totally exhausted, couldnt push as they were telling me to and she wasnt progressing any further down so i requested assisted delivery (told you i was rubbish at giving birth)


I should say as well that they turned the drip off 2 hours before because i was contracting too quick at every 1.5 mins and she didnt want me getting tired!


I was given ventouse delivery again but didnt need episiotimy this time and had no stitches or tears
and Edith was born at 11.29.

There is not a cat in hells chance i am ever going to do it again, as it appears i cannot push fo toffee! i ache like a biatch am bloody shattered and i feel like me ar*e has been ripped out!

BUT i wouldnt swap my gorgeous daughter for anything and she was worth it!

i have been blessed with 2 beautiful girls and i am over the moon and my hubby has promised he wont try and talk me into number 3 as he cant bear to see me in labour. he bought me a lovely thank you card that made me cry reading it!

i am just pleased i didnt scream the building down this time, i could have given them on 1 born every minute a run for their money when i had Alice!
