Cerys had her jab last Tues. Has been fine until a couple of days ago. She has a seriously blocked nose at night, then drippy in the day. She is very quiet and wanting cuddles. She had a bit of diarrhoea yesterday and is also very up and down with her moods. She also had a gunky eye this morning. Has you LO had this after the jab or do you think she just has a cold or teething....... or all 3 lol !! She doesnt have a temp but feels very warm. Im just dosing her with calpol xx

Awwwww poor Cerys, hope she is feeling better soon.

The day after Bethany had hers she was very sick and I ended up taking her to hospital as she is never sick and the Doc said it wasn't to do with the MMR but I think it was.

But about 10 days after Bethany had the jab she became quite grumpy for a few days, again no temperature but not quite herself.

I think it could be that Cerys has a bit of a cold but also the jab hasn't helped and has made her grumpy.

Not sure either. sophia had her jabs on Friday and since Monday she has been a lot like cerys minus the gunky eye. I think maybe just a cold for my Soph as its only 3 days after? The nurse said any side effects would show up a week later?

I was dreading side affects but callum didnt get any thankgod with his jabs when he was a baby it was awfull.
could just be a coquiencedence that its happened after her jab sounds like the cold thats going around at the moment xx

With the normal injections (hip booster and meningitis booster) there's usually little side effects. But with the mmr you often get side effects as you've described, is tends to happen a week to 10 days after, so I'd say she was like this due to the shot,

I think that because they have two sets of injections quite close together that we forget what they all are. The mmr is quite a nasty jab!

awww thanks ladies. yeh its been 9 days since the jab (well she had 1 jab in each arm) so i think it must be because of that on top of a cold. Yeh Lesley she is grumpy and feeling sorry for herself xx

Mmmmm i thought the MMR was in the legs

Sam had his MMR yesterday (2 months late due to illness) and it was in the legs. They usually do the pre school injections in the arms but all mine have had this one in the legs xx

yeh some do it the arms - not sure why though? x

Caitlin had hers last Tuesday so it sounds like by the end of this week I could have a grumpy girl on my hands. Oh dear.... at least I know to keep an eye out.

Mara when do you get the MMR in England? Here we dont get it until they 15mths anyway.

At 12mths Caitlin had hib & men C in one jab.
Then at 15mths MMR & Pneumococcal in 2 jabs.

Caitlins have always been in the legs too x

In Wales its 12/13 months. Snoopy, Cerys was poorly for about a week x

Oh poor cerys, and poor you meg! What are the symptoms after mmr - high temp and grumpy/off food? Please tell me they sleep alot ? x

snotty, grumpy, bit hot, disturbed sleep but from not being able to breathe due to bunged up nose. she did sleep longer a few times but that might have been luck lol. stock up on the calpol and nurofen x
