How do explain to a 3 year old where they were before they were born or in Mummys tummy???

We have been looking at some photos taken before Lottie was born. At first she thought she wasn't in them cos she was in Mummys tummy. I told her she wasn't in my tummy then (I should have let her think she was ), then she thought that she wasn't in them cos she took the photos (absolutely PMSL!!), then she thought she must have been at her Nannas house!!

I managed to change the subject and distract her....but what do I say when she brings it up again?? HELP!! LOL

Why dont you say before she was in her tummy she was a little seed/egg and when you and her daddy decided the time was right you planted the seed and she grew. its a toughie. im glad its you and not me

Ya..the flower pollination story works well. Or the - I wished on a star for a special baby and it was granted. Too young for the real birds and bees chat. Not an easy topic to discuss with kids ever! LOL xxx

Crikey yeah what the girls have said I think is the best, she's still lickle. Pmsl though bless her must be so hard to understand.

We had oh son ask Friday (he's 7) how was the baby going to come out of my belly, &did it hurt when they come out of your belly button pmsl I kept quite but was a very awkward car journey home while oh tried to explain. Then when we got home he wanted to know why men don't have babies&they come out of their willies lol he just went on &on asking questions lol I dread what he went home saying to his mum!!!

Thanks ladies....I think I will stick to the seed thingy...but I am gonna wait until she brings it up...either that or tell her to ask her Nanna!!! LMAO!!!

Thats where a c-section scar comes in handy!! much easier to explain!
