i'm actually needing to eat more to lose weight!!!

i know it sounds stupid but i do a 2hour workout most days, that burns off a good 1300cals(was 1600 but i've cut it) but i only eat 1200cals so i'm working on a deficit of -100

so apparently i'm not eating enough and need to eat at least 2000cals a day on top of the exercise....but i'm having a bloody hard time doing it!!

today i have eaten about 5-6 times(meals and snacks) and i've still not even eaten 1200cals

i really don't know what to do...what i can eat is quite limited as i'm vegetarian...but i cannot stand veggies!! hehe

weigh in doesn't look good for me this week...i have 2 1/2months to lose 30lbs...and that just isn't going to happen as far as i can tell Sad

nuts are high in fat and protein but aren't processed so it is easily accessible energy - better for you than cheese on toast, but not as yummy! also slimfast/complan etc are relatively high in calories but not great for complex carbs etc cereals are quite good too oh and eggs! boiled eggs! Smile

see that is all stuff i love...BUT i KNOW i'm eating something full of fat/cals and my mind rebels and i'm instantly not hungry! Sad

i've basically calorie counted for 5yrs(more laid back when pg but still watched what i ate) so it's so natural to refuse high cal foods that it makes it really hard to eat what i need

OMG how do you manange to burn 1300cals, even at my fitest, 8stone and going to the gym 4 days a week, i could only manage 900-1000 my body wouldnt let me do anymore then that x

pure stubborness and determination...i was doing 1600 in 2hours!! but i had to cut it down as i couldn't possibly eat enough to make up the deficit

pre babies i was in the gym everyday except sunday and would do 4hours....1000cals in the main gym and then 2 classes...i thrived on it

thanks for the suggestions girls

so after a day of only eating 1bowl of cereal and a snack bar(done a 9mile walk too) i'm happily getting my calories in by eating


half a margherita pizza and a portion of wedges....yummy!!!

Can you not cut the exercise back to an hour or so hon, you will still be burning plenty of calories and you wont need to add much more food on,
I was like you before i had Sophie and was a proper gym bunny, 3 or 4 times a week. It was before I got married. I lost 2 stone but it took me about 7 months to do it.
I have issues around food anyway, yo-yo weight and that. I am doing slimming world now and the weight is coming off soooo much quicker, i have lost nearly a stone and a half in 11 weeks.
Have you tried something like that hun? I am actually eating loads more than I ever have, i can have pasta, rice and stuff and the green days are ideal for veggies.

everytime i mention ww or sw sam nixes it telling me i don't need it, am eating right already etc

tbh i find it impossible to do less than 1000cals...i say 'oh, i'm only going to do an hour, which is 1000cals' and then i'll end up hitting 1200 or more

at the moment i'm hitting 1500cals a workout

too easy....with every workout i'm adding on about 10cals without even thinking, so by the end of the week i'm up another hundred or so...which is more i HAVE to eat to avoid starvation mode

What exercise are you doing to burn so many calories in an hour?
I had to cancel my membership at the gym due to lack of funds, but i'm hoping to go back in december, i cant wait!!

i run on an incline on a treadmill hun...plus, as i posted on a different thread, that could be being thoroughly over-estimated

(and 1500 takes me hour and a half, or just over)

Lol i know i was just curious what exercise you were doing!
If i had a treadmill at home i recken i'd run on it but at the gym i always feel like i'm a bit heavy footed and make loads of noise lol!

I used to use the cross trainer at the gym and would burn @ 800 calories in an hour

The reason I suggested a slimming club hun, was because perhaps you are not eating enough? You need to eat calories to burn them, keep your metabolism up and all that!

kell....i used to spend my whole life in a gym(am a trained gym instructor) trust me, people would never notice how 'heavy footed' you are

vickie, i am pretty sure i'm not eating enough, i burn up to 1000cals a day(thought it was 1500 but apparently not) and only eat 1200 but i can't bring myself to eat more than that Sad
